Burnside Animal Rehabilitation Centre

Burnside Animal Rehabilitation Centre provide veterinary physiotherapy, including hydrotherapy, for dogs, cats and other small animals.

Treatments can include hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, manual therapies and land-based exercise. We provide an integrated approach to rehabilitation, meaning your pet will receive its own treatment plan in line with its needs and will include a mixture of treatments. Burnside Animal Rehabilitation Centre was established in January 2014, as a continuation of Theravet Fleet, with Hannah Stacey taking over the running of the centre. The Centre was purpose built in 2000 for veterinary physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. We are open for referrals from Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire and beyond. All our members of staff are qualified professionals specialising in small animal rehabilitation and we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and evidence-based approach to your pet's rehabilitation.

The University of Liverpool’s Postgraduate Diploma / MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy is a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 aimed at 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 who wish to translate their knowledge and skills developed on humans into practice on animals. The programme is recognised by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) as an upgrading route for ‘Category A’ membership.

The programme is available on a full time or part time basis either to PgDip or MSc level. The full time PgDip and MSc programmes require students to study on campus in the UK, while the part time PgDip and MSc programmes can be studied remotely.

To all our lovely clients!

Unfortunately our underwater treadmill has sprung a leak! This means it will be out of action until we can have it fixed on Monday next week.
For anyone who has an appointment before then our lovely physiotherapists will devise a wonderful dry land session for your dog so that their rehab is not interrupted. We do apologise for the inconvenience but it's totally out of our control.

We are super excited to announce that our new physiotherapist Kiara is starting with us this week. She will be taking over from Hollie at the end of this month, but you will likely see her over the next few weeks as she works alongside us.

'I have always loved animals, and I’m passionate about helping them live their best lives while guiding owners on how to best support their dogs. This inspired me to become a veterinary physiotherapist.

I began my journey in human physiotherapy, earning a master’s degree in manual and sports physiotherapy before going on to complete my PGDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Hartpury University. Today, I’m a proud member of both ACPAT and RAMP.

After graduating, I launched my own business treating horses, dogs, and cats, while also working in a hydrotherapy centre. My focus is always on building trust and forming a strong bond with every animal I treat, as I believe this approach leads to the best results.

Animals are a huge part of my life outside of work too. I have two horses and a cat of my own, and I spend as much of my free time as possible enjoying their company. They are a constant reminder of why I love what I do.

🐾 A Fond Farewell to Hollie 🐾

Today we have to announce that Hollie is sadly leaving us at the end of August to pursue a new chapter in her career.

Hollie has been an incredible part of Burnside over the last 3 years, bringing compassion, care, and a deep love for animals into everything she does. Her dedication to our patients and their families has gone above and beyond, and her presence here will truly be missed (especially by Hannah who now hasn't got someone to keep her organised!).

While we’re sad to see her go, we’re also excited for what’s next for her and wish her all the success in her new chapter.

Thank you, Hollie, for everything you’ve brought to Burnside. 🐶🐾💚

A client of ours has a photizo for sale - in excellent condition.

These are photobiomodulation devices and are an easy and safe way to use phototherapy inbetween your LASER sessions here at Burnside. They are preset and have a simple on/off button. They can help reduce inflammation and swelling , aid healing, stimulate the nervous system and reduce pain levels.

They normally retail at £315 but you could have this one for £200 with its origional box. Just pop us an email enquiries@burnsiderehab.co.uk if you are interested.
