Treatments are mainly done through home visits or at Harmony Holistic, Fraserburgh Fitness Center, James Ramsay Park, Fraserburgh AB43 8TH on a Sunday. My adventure into Shiatsu, all started due to a loved one having issues with their back and the consultant suggesting we might wish to try an alternative treatment. As luck would have it I noticed a one day event being advertised on Face Book for b

ack pains. The meaning of Shiatsu - finger (Shi) pressure (Atsu) and although Shiatsu is primarily pressure, usually applied with the thumbs along the meridian lines; extensive soft tissue manipulation and both active and passive exercise and stretching may be part of the treatments. ... Therapy and diagnosis are one. Shiatsu originated indirectly from acupuncture, the ancient Chinese healing art, from which principles were applied in the traditional form of Japanese massage called anma. In the 1950s the Japanese Ministry of Health officially recognized shiatsu. It is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is considered a form of acupressure massage. Shiatsu treatment is usually performed on a futon on the floor. As Shiatsu works through clothes, we suggest you wear comfortable and loose clothing, preferably trousers and something to keep you warm. The technique carries blood and nutrients to your muscles while eliminating toxins. After stimulating muscles that you may not usually use, you might experience delayed onset muscle discomfort which soon passes. This is a physical response to the inflammation as your body heals. The aim of shiatsu is to promote the processes of self-healing and personal growth through balancing the circulation of the body's energy through the meridians system. Shiatsu can be used in the treatment of a wide range of internal, musculoskeletal, and emotional conditions. It is thought to reduce muscle stiffness, stimulate the skin, aid digestion, and influence the nervous system. To make the most of your therapy afterwards stay hydrated, if hungry have a light meal and carryout light duties only. An average Session lasts approximately Forty-five minutes.
