Join me this Friday for the next Soulful Session. An evening of candlelit yoga to slow down and pause. This month’s theme is ‘a winter rest’ — taking permission to pause, and ease into the new year rather than rush ahead.

Expect slow, gentle movement, some restorative shapes, and plenty of space to breathe and unwind.

Suitable for beginners and anyone needing a calm, nourishing reset. No experience needed — just come as you are.

Introducing Mel , Mel has joined Health Through Yoga CIC over the past few months and is helping us to expand our reach into Suffolk. She is a wonderful teacher and therapist and I am so glad to have her on board...

Hi, I'm Mel ,

After a few years away, I moved back to the Suffolk coast in early 2025 and am thrilled to team up with Georgina and Health through Yoga, enabling us to share the joy of our work across 2 counties .

Yoga has been a part of my life for over a decade - I'm a yoga teacher and yoga therapist.

In my day to day - I hold one to one sessions in my therapy space at home, and I teach accessible chair yoga in my community. I'm involved with different funded projects,most recently offering yoga for those living with Dementia.

I'm a passionate advocate for finding new and innovative ways to adapt, honour and blend the powerful ancient wisdom and practices of Yoga with modern science, finding small ways in which everyone no matter what can live and feel well.

A bit about me -

I'm a Mum to a Teenager.

I've spent the last decade making friends with myself, my body, and my own physical limitations. Scoliosis & hypermobility have been my greatest teachers fuelling my passion for finding accessible movement.

Things I love- cooking, cats, kitchen disco's, floristry, chocolate, spontaneous adventures, and I never say no to a good Coffee ☕️

You'll often find me -
out walking,pottering in my garden, or at the beach swimming or scouring the shoreline for the best weathered shells, sea glass, and stones.

The last few years have taught me - Pace yourself well, don't take life too seriously and never take your best friends for granted, making time for the ones we love, laugh and cry with is so important ♥️

As well as our FREE monthly classes we are also offering free and low cost one to one yoga therapy sessions in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston to anyone living with chronic pain or those looking to improve their mental health.

In both the group classes you can practice in the chair, on the mat or a mix of both to ensure you are as comfortable and supported as possible.

FREE Yoga for Wellbeing starts this week at Shrublands Community Centre in Gorleston – with a brand-new monthly class and free one-to-one sessions to support your mental health and wellbeing.

Starting this Friday, the monthly class is free to attend and open to everyone, whether you’ve never tried yoga before or already know how helpful it can be. We’ll explore gentle movement, breathing practices and rest, with simple tools you can use in everyday life.

Alongside the class, there are also free one-to-one yoga sessions available for those who would like more personal support with their mental health and wellbeing.

Email hello@healththroughyoga.co.uk to find out more about the group or one to one sessions.

A big thank you to Love Norfolk and Norfolk Community Foundation whose funding has made this possible.

And starting later this month, on the 4th Friday, there will also be a new Movement for Chronic Pain class, with one to one sessions available too.

We have 2 new FREE classes starting in Gorleston this month...

✨ YOGA FOR WELLBEING - an easy going class aimed at helping you to improve your mental health and wellbeing. 2nd Friday of the month, 1:15-2:15pm.

✨ MOVEMENT FOR CHRONIC PAIN - a gentle class, bringing in skills from yoga and mindfulness to help you feel better in your body. 4th Friday of the month, 1:15-2:15pm.

Options available on the mat or in the chair for both classes.

Both these classes are at Shrublands Community Trust and are free to join. These are drop in classes, you can come as and when you like but if you can let me know when you plan on coming that would be useful.

Our website is currently having some work done and these classes aren't up yet so if you want to know more drop me a message on here or email hello@healththroughyoga.co.uk.
