The weekend retreat did not disappoint!

I was surrounded by the friendliest bunch of women and the most welcoming host. We chatted, laughed, shared life stories and drank copious cups of tea! The host, Kelly could not have looked after us anymore, providing pots of tea, wonderful food and lovely homemade cakes!

I can honestly say it was one of the most empowering things I have done and I have now met some wonderful people I can call friends, sharing the same passions and interests as I do.

The only negative on the weekend was not feeling the best with a virus that has hung around longer than I would like and today I pushed myself to see the GP and I have a chest infection, which was what I suspected.

But.... I'm not going to let it take the shine off of a great weekend.

Did I feel a little nervous going alone? ... Yes

Did I consider cancelling it at times before I left? ...Yes

How do I feel about it now? ...Totally empowered!

Would I go again? ... Already booked for next year!

So today was the day of travel to Shropshire for my retreat.

Firstly, I came down with a horrible virus and then the weather was looking horrid to drive in....but I decided that I would dose myself up and take it slowly on the roads.

I left at 9.30 and arrived at 2.30, yes the roads were horrible as expected with water spray, but I took my time and it was worth it just for the beautiful views as I got closer to my destination.

I arrived at my B&B to a wonderful welcomed slice of homemade cake in my room and a very needed cup of tea.

It feels a little strange as I sit here and reflect on the journey so far, that is, being here on my own but I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the group this evening and settling in to a creative weekend.

Here is my inspiration for the colours I will use, I have always adored this tree!! โค๏ธ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿงก

I cannot believe it's October tomorrow!

It's been a very busy month in the counselling room and on a personal level.

Hopefully if things go to plan, I am going on a solo retreat this weekend as part of my self care, which is an important part of my work.

I plan to share this with you as I leave for a long road trip, arrive at my accommodation for the weekend and share the beautiful surroundings ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸคŽ

I will share my experience and feelings of travelling solo, meeting new people and exploring unknown places.

If this is something you are thinking about doing but feel a little nervous to go alone and would be interested in sharing my experience, watch this space.
I will be posting over the weekend ๐Ÿ˜€

As the summer season shifts to autumn, we can feel a drop in serotonin as we experience less daylight. Vitamin D levels can also decrease, affecting our mood and energy levels.

If you experience the shift of seasons in a negative way, there are some healthy habits that can help.

Go for a walk in natural sunlight when possible.
Create a healthy sleeping pattern.
Reduce alcohol.
Plan a healthy diet.

Autumn and winter can be the perfect time to slow down, it provides us time to enjoy slower living.
Can you give yourself permission to rest and simply be?

Therapy can help support you to change how you feel by changing the way you think.

Who am I?

What a great question!

To explore your authentic self could be the most empowering, life changing experience.

Counselling provides an empathic approach that understands you without any judgement. This enables you to look in depth 'who you really are' who your authentic self really is.

If you are feeling confused with life, trying to please others all the time and unhappy with your relationships, counselling can help to unravel it all.

My profile is on the Counselling Directory if you would like to read further about my approach.
You can also contact me directly on 07782143001 to arrange a free introductory call.

When I work with abused clients, we focus on trust, the goal being to regain trust in yourself first.

Chronic mistreatment makes you doubt yourself, creating confusion about the abuse.

Together we work on your self esteem and confidence.

The abusers problem is their own. There is nothing wrong with you.

We look at the facts and research.

Knowledge is power.

The reasons given for abusive behaviour are simply 'excuses'.

Abuse is about power and control.

Together we work on reclaiming control of your own life.

I am a registered counsellor with the BACP.

You can also look me up on the Counselling Directory or you can contact me directly on 07782143001.
