Friendly welcoming group.

We will be continuing working on core stability next block. Don’t be put off, chairs are welcome and I have my own health issues so can usually adapt if you prefer. I also have a belly so know how to work around that too to access poses. I follow the staged approach so we break movements down. And there is no pressure to do anything other than what you want to.

From mid June I also have limited availability for 1:1 sessions so if you would like to try yoga but aren’t ready for a class yet get in touch.

Next block we will be developing bramhari breathing or bumblebee breath which is fabulous for calming your nervous system. We will be developing another intermediate pose or as well… tbd!

Hatha class so we hold poses, there are no vinyasas, headstands etc and flows are limited to a few postures or the occasional sun/moon salutation. I’m relatively gentle as yoga goes, but can adjust challenge to make it more accessible or more challenging…

Each class starts with a touch of yogic philosophy ends with a type of meditation, guided relaxation or yoga Nidra.

Typical class:
5 mins settle
15-20 mins warm through
20-25 mins more challenging poses, usually standing
5-10 mins cool down
5-10 mins savasana
10-15 mins pranayama (bramhari breathing in this block, it builds each week)
10-15 mins meditation
5 mins close

Mats, blocks, blankets, belts available. You just need to bring yourself and a drink of water. No steps and chairs also available.

Sessions last around 60-90 minutes.

Yoga starts again next week from Tuesday (21 April). A space is available, if you’d like it please get in touch!

I aim to be inclusive, if you’re unsure if the class is for you drop me an email. I have health issues that have seriously impacted my ability to exercise so am very aware of limitations, and can usually give you ways to adapt most postures. My main focus is on working with the breath so that your practice is mindful, as well as stretching and strengthening so that you can sit (or lay) comfortably for pranayama and meditation. My style is about getting to a parasympathetic (relaxes) state rather high energy class.

Each block we are introducing pr developing an intermediate posture. On request we will continue working on strengthening the legs and core and working on posture and balance. Options are always available and no one is forced to do anything. Chairs are available.

A typical class:
Settle (approx 5 min), warm up, asana/postures (approx 60 min), pranayama/breathing with intention (approx 10 min), meditation/relaxation (approx 15 min). Not necessarily in blocks. No music. By Candle light whilst we have darker evenings. No steps to the hall. All equipment provided or you’re welcome to bring your own. Wear loose fitting clothing, layers and bring some water.

Next block starts on Tuesday 21 April and runs for 5 weeks (21/4, 28/4, 5/5, 12/5 and 19/5).

The subsequent block will be 8 weeks starting 2 June and running for 8 weeks (2/6, 9/6, 16/6, 23/6, 30/6, 7/7, 14/7, 21/7) after which I take a break over August so I can focus on planning new things for 2027!

If there is interest I will run a couple of special events / workshops, and maybe a monthly gentle kundalini class… let me know if you’re interested.

This block we have been focussing on working towards Ardha Chandrasana (half moon posture) so building strength in the legs & core and flexibility in the hips and spine. I haven’t chosen one for the next block yet, but we will continue working on strengthening the legs and core and working on posture and balancing. Half moon will be included! Options are always available and no one is forced to do anything.

We have also continued practicing different pranayama and meditation techniques, including chocolate meditation!

Next week we will have a more gentle flowy session and practice kaya kriya and a yoga nidra to relax ready for the Easter break 🐣

✅ We will practice different meditation and breathing techniques that you can use at home.

✅ Traditional style hatha class, slow and with the breath rather than fast and energetic, poses are held for upto 5 breaths so you relax into them, some flowy elements (parasympathetic state is my aim).

✅ Inclusive

❌ No headstands or anything like that.

90 minute class - approx 60 mins on different asana (physical practice), 15 mins on breathing and pranayama (using breath to direct energy) and 15 mins on meditation. My goal is to stretch the body in each direction and shift energy so you can comfortably relax and meditate. It you are looking for a fitness or fast flow style yoga class, I am likely not your preferred teacher.

Inclusive - yoga is for all bodies - and we are a friendly group. I have my own health challenges (and a belly now) so aim to support limitations. Any issues, let me know and I will discuss accommodations, although the practice is always your own so you can adapt for comfort, use a chair, rest etc.

Two updates Yoga and Nutrition

🧘🏻‍♀️Yoga: the last class of our current block at Fillingham Village Hall is next Tuesday (10 Feb).

Our next block runs from Tuesday 24 Feb for 6 weeks until 31 March. I’ve not chosen a theme yet so suggestions on what you’d like to develop appreciated 💕 I’ll wait to advertise at the weekend as if everyone wants to continue I’ll call the class full. So please let me know 🙏🏻

Booking available on whh.setmore.com, although I prefer if you book direct with me to save fees (cash/BACs).

🥙Nutrition and hypnotherapy based healthy weight loss / management course: I havent forgotten and this is to support me as well as us all!! As you can see by the title it’s a work in progress... But as a few people have expressed interest I’m writing it now.

6-8 weeks of naturopathic nutritional discussions* with hypnotherapy* and a bit of yoga. 1 hour sessions. Alpha test so will be ~£5/session in exchange for feedback, 6-8 sessions paid in advance, online or on person, max of 12. Considering women only. I was hoping to launch late Jan / early Feb, but I’m digging into the research to get it right, so am projecting mid April now.
