Hogg hall day out! We had a fab day. Angela Duncan was fantastic as always. Thank you to the ladies for the Easter Eggs 🤤 and a big thank you to the ladies who gave such generous sponsorship for our sponsored walk taking place in May. You are all so very kind ❤️

We had bingo today with our special guest bingo caller Mick! We all tested our reflexes with a game of drop stick, not going to lie the sticks were flying everywhere 😂 we ended the day with a spring quiz which everyone enjoyed (including the carers) 😂

We started decorating our Easter Bonnets today in preparation for our next Hogg Hall day out.

We were at Darvel Bowling club today for the Darvel Dinner ladies daffodil Tea. It was a lovely afternoon. Rock choir were amazing!

Yesterday we said goodbye to a very special lady who brought so much warmth and laughter into our house.

She was truly loved by both staff and residents, and her presence will be deeply missed. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was known for her brilliant one-liners that could make anyone smile. Even on the hardest of day, no matter how she was feeling, she would always say she was “fine.” As many of us would say, her leg could have been hanging off and she would still have told you she was fine if you asked how she was.

She never complained and always carried herself with a quiet strength. It also wasn’t unheard of for her to pull her room cord just to ask if someone could come and give her back a good scratch — something that always gave everyone a laugh and showed the lovely, cheeky side of her that we all adored.

She will be missed more than words can express. Her humour, her spirit, and the small everyday moments we shared with her will stay with us for a long time.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to her family — Lynn, Raymond and James — for the beautiful flowers and card and for their kindness in holding a collection in her memory for the Residents’ Comfort Fund. It is a beautiful gesture that will help bring comfort and joy to others, just as she brought comfort and joy to so many during her time with us.

She will always be remembered with great fondness and love by everyone here.
