Thankyou to Understanding Me

Kerry and Liz took part in a Visual stress Training Session today.

Understanding Me provide 1:1 support and workshops for Age 7 plus. They teach self advocation and understanding of your Neurodivergent Diagnosis.

With Visual Stress being co morbid to Neurodivergence and Sensory Processing they are now equipped to spot symptoms and signpost for support.

Working together we can provide support for our neurodivergent children and family members.

Bringing Visual Stress Assessments to your home.

Working in Practice as a Dispensing Optician and Colorimetry Practitioner, it was evident just how stressful the process is for children who are facing reading challenges.

Add in the commonality of Visual Stress being co morbid to Dyslexia, Neurodivergence and Sensory Processing Disorder.

Entering an optical practice and being asked to read to a stranger in an already high sensory input environment, this process can be overwhelming.

My goal is making the assessment accessible.

I am a qualified Dispensing Optician FBDO. I worked as a Colorimetry Practitioner and this included Visual Stress and Coloured overlay assessments as well as testing for and prescribing Precision Tinted Lenses for Visual Stress, Migraine and Post Stroke.

Now a Home-Ed mum to a child with Autism PDA and ADHD, I have advanced SEN and Understanding Autism Qualifications.

Movement breaks are encouraged.
