I’m delighted to report that Shallochmill Yogi B, by Jambarrie Luigi o/o Shallochmill Farah has been having a fabulous day out showing across the water in Ireland today.
At the Northern Ireland Shetland show, being judged by Abigail Hampton, Yogi B won….

Shallochmill Siggy, filly by Jambarrie Luigi o/o Pinglewood Holly.
Siggy is the only foal currently at home because her mum comes in every night. Because of this she’s extra bold and in your face.
A cuddly wee girl I’m intrigued to see what colour she ends up, she was registered as buckskin roan but now she’s started to shed her foal coat I’ve no idea.
Whatever she is I’m absolutely chuffed to finally have a filly out of Holly to keep and add to the broodmare team in the future.
Pinglewood’s Holly and Zola have been with me for 20 years now and although they didn’t set foot in a ring more than a couple of times themselves because I was too busy show jumping, showing, etc Zola’s granddaughter has been a multiple champion already.

We’re all enjoying a quieter spell here at the Mill. The foals have all been chipped and their paperwork done, they’ve been moved to fresh grazing, the shows are finished for us now and it’s time to catch up with all the jobs that are neglected over the busy summer.
In another few weeks it’ll be weaning time, ponies will be heading away north, south, east and west then it’ll be annual sales to look forward to so before the madness here are a few snaps of the girls taken today.

Birchwood Cream Cracker yearling c**t by Birchwood Aztec Gold o/o Doonpark Jatara.
Colour tested perlino homozygous tobiano and SA clear.
Cracker went for a day out yesterday for his first run away from home. All went well until he planted his feet and said no. Totally overwhelmed by the occasion, after being really cocky at home a bit more practice is required but what a handsome, chunky wee man he’s turning into and how extra cute is he when he’s clean 😂

Yesterday I took a trip out to Dumfries show with four girls on board.
Halstock Orla who has been a prolific winner in her youth found herself third of three in the broodmare class 🙈
Her foal,Shallochmill Ruadh(by Jambarrie Loan Ranger) was only halter broken two days prior to the show but what a clever wee girl she was on the day. She trotted up, she stood well and she loved all the fuss. I really like this one and hope to get her out more. She was only second this time but what she learned in one day will be invaluable.
Shallochmill Raven, also by Jambarrie Loan Ranger o/o Halstock Veracity travelled with her little sister Ruadh and started her show off not wanting to leave her but thankfully got her act together to win the yearlings.
Multiple champion Shallochmill Haile(Kerswell Sprite) wasn’t this judge’s cup of tea only managing a fourth.
The sun shone, we were finished by lunchtime and home late afternoon with all the girls back out in the field before tea time.
Just one more local show to support with the minis then it’s time off ahead of some autumn foaling.

After a very hectic week of vet and farrier visits, microchipping and passporting foals,a stud visit, moving ponies and a wedding thrown in I only managed to pull two girls in out the field on Saturday afternoon ahead of Moniaive show on the Sunday.
Shallochmill Raven won a red for being the only yearling forward but a spin in the ring to give her a bit of mileage was more valuable than her rosette.
Shallochmill Haile was the ⭐️ again winning her 2/3yr old class then going reserve mini champion rounding off with a reserve overall junior champion title behind a lovely standard filly.
A mention must go to my Highland show helpers who took their own horses out to play with Jane taking home a trophy and two reds in the workers, Suzanne winning her Highland class and Lisa travelling her homebred yearling with me to pick up a trophy for the best hunter youngster. Happy days all round

This little girl is Shallochmill Ruadh by show champion stallion Jambarrie Loan Ranger out of my prize winning mare Halstock Orla.
Ruadh is half sister to last year’s winning foal Shallochmill Orianna who is now with Blairscroft Stud but another two half sisters, Hokey Cokey and Charlotte have been retained.
A very confident foal I really hope I can find time to take her in the show ring this year. Ruadh is being retained and will run with her little ‘sister’ Siggy.

All the boys left their girlfriends, spent a day becoming reacquainted, had their feet tidied, loaded up and were delivered back to their usual field.
Jambarrie Loan Ranger, Jambarrie Lion King, Jambarrie Luigi and Kerswell Sprite now have a holiday until next spring.

My main man Kerswell Sprite looking a bit smug cos not only did two of his daughters win at the Highland Show but he also has two gorgeous young fillies for company this summer 😉
