Samhain Blessings
Today we celebrate Samhain here in the Northern Hemisphere, honouring the Celtic Festival of the New Year.
In this ancient tradition we are starting a new cycle in our life tonight as we are entering the darkest quarter of the year. In nature now is the time were the seeds lie dormant in the earth to gather strength and energy in the dark, fertile soil for their reawakening in spring.
In our life it is a time to go within, reflect on the year that is coming to an end and find and nourish the seeds which we would like to grow into our future.
Seeds that only exist in our life as a result of many harvests done by our ancestors. Today we remember the unbroken thread connecting us to our ancestors. Each of the seeds they planted in their lives held the information for all future harvests to come. Being aware that the seeds we plant in our life today will influence our future and the future of those walking in our footsteps.
It is believed that on the night of Samhain the veils between our world and the otherworld are at their thinnest foΕ both worlds to meet. So we take time to honour our ancestors and our loved ones who passed through the veil before us and give gratitude for their gifts for without them we wouldn't be who we are.
Tonight we will leave seats for them by the fire and put plates with food out for them at our feasts. We remember and honour the ones we have loved and lost in stories and songs...
If there is somebody you would like to remember and hold in love and light together with our global family, please put their name in the comments below. And if you choose, please tell us a little bit about this person and why they were important to you. Lets hold all our loved ones who went before us in our hearts at this special time of year.

PS. To all of you in the Southern Hemisphere, we wish you a happy Beltaine. Have a wonderful time going into the abundance of summer. Today as the veils between the worlds are at their thinnest no matter where we are on the planet, you might also like to take a moment to connect to your ancestors and loved ones who have passed...
