National Bereaved Parents Day is on 3 July 2026. The theme this year is “This is my place” - where is a place that is important to you?

It could be somewhere that holds special memories of your child, or somewhere that you have found community and belonging as a bereaved parent.
It does not have to be a physical place, or one that you have been to yourself.

Write to us at info@tcf.org.uk to tell us about your special place and to be included in our Bereaved Parents Day feature. The closing date for submissions is 25 May.

Online support!

We are running an online support group for bereaved parents living in Scotland and Northern Ireland, particularly where for those who have limited access to in-person support.

Our support groups welcome parents who have lost a child, from as young as 1 month old to adulthood, and from any cause of death, and who have been bereaved for at least 3 months. This online session, facilitated by trained bereaved parent volunteers, offers an opportunity for mutual sharing, support and connection with other parents in areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Looks like a great event for bereaved parents and families. Please share

We’re inviting bereaved parents, grandparents and adult siblings to join us for an opportunity to meet and connect with other bereaved families in a safe space.

We are offering a free Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with the lovely Sharon, where you’ll be gently guided through practical, everyday tools to support your wellbeing.

Together we will:
• Explore the connection between thoughts, feelings & behaviours
• Learn how to recognise and gently challenge unhelpful patterns
• Gain simple, evidence-based strategies to support resilience and self-care

We’ll then close the afternoon with a deeply relaxing sound bath, helping you to unwind, soothe your nervous system, and leave feeling a little more grounded.

A great podcast to try ❤️

A whole year of Dying for a Cuppa… and I still can’t quite believe I’m saying that.

At the beginning of last year, I remember thinking there was absolutely no way I could do a podcast. I had no idea where to start, how it worked, or how I’d manage any of the tech behind it. It felt completely out of my depth. And yet here we are, a year on, with nearly 50 episodes across three series.

And being listened to in 38 countries 🤯

What a journey it’s been.

I’ve had the privilege of speaking with some incredible people and hearing the most powerful stories. There’s been heartbreak, honesty, raw and sometimes graphic reality, deep grief, and also so much insight, connection and humanity. There has been tears, anger and lightness and laughter. The kind of conversations we don’t have often enough, but absolutely should.

I feel so grateful to every single guest who has trusted me, and you, with their stories. That takes courage, and it’s what makes the podcast what it is.

And to all of you who have listened, shared episodes, commented, rated, subscribed, and passed it on to others, THANK YOU. Truly. That’s what has helped this grow and reach people who need it.

If you’ve had a favourite episode, share it. If something has stayed with you or taught you something new, pass it on. If there’s a story that someone in your world needs to hear, please keep that ripple going.

I’ve got big plans and ideas for what comes next, and I’ll be sharing more on that soon as we get ready for series four.

But for now, there’s a whole library of conversations there to listen to, connect with, and learn from.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart ❤️☕️❤️

This week marks the beginning of Demystifying Death Week.

Demystifying Death Week is about shining a light on death, dying and bereavement in Scotland. Scotland should be a place where everyone can help someone who is caring, dying or grieving.

Here's a list of events taking place across Scotland this week to mark :

Demystifying Death Week is about shining a light on death, dying and bereavement in Scotland. We are encouraging people to get involved by holding in-person and online events that bring death, dying and bereavement into the limelight.
