We have been highlighted for our positive outlier status by the National Neonatal Audit Project (NNAP)

1. deferred cord clamping - 93.3% (national average 73.5%)
2. maternal breast milk by day 2 - 91.6% (national average 66.8%)

Well done to all our perinatal team. Without such great team work across both maternity and neonatal services we could not achieve these high rates which ultimately results in better outcomes for our preterm babies. 💜🥰🤩

🌟 Congratulations to our wonderful colleagues at the NHSGGC - PRM Neo Team for their 'Positive Outlier' status in the upcoming National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP).

The team was highlighted for performance in a number of areas well above the national average, including in deferred cord clamping, a gold standard in care in which babies remain attached to the umbilical cord for a short period to allow placental transfusion.

Clinical Director, Dr Colin Peters, said: "It is great to see national recognition for excellent delivery of care for preterm babies across Greater Glasgow and Clyde in 2024. With fantastic team working with colleagues from maternity, neonatal, infant feeding, and allied health professionals we've achieved the high quality care we strive for every day. I look forward to publication of all our benchmarking data in October."

We are absolutely delighted to hear about your babies milestones! Thank you to Aimee's family for this update. She looks so smart in her uniform and we hope that she is still enjoying school! It is also a pleasure to see our NICU graduates at the neonatal reunion and we are glad that you enjoyed it 💜

Good luck to Lachlan as he starts the next stage of his life - going to school! We absolutely love getting photos of our NICU graduates first day at school and hope that Lachlan is settling in and enjoying school. He looks so smart in his uniform

"Lachlan Johnstone started Primary 1 today, he was born at 24 weeks back in April 2020 and spent the first 80 odd days at your intensive care unit before moving on to the Queen Elizabeth and got home after a whopping 200 days! We will never forget all you did for him and we are so proud both myself (Mum), Dad and his now little one year old sister Fiadh! Lachlan has faced many challenges (some on-going) and has come such a long way but is now thriving. From the tiny 1 pound 9 ounces he was at birth to a very happy and clever boy!!! Happy to share this with you and your page if possible. Thank you so much 💕"

Spent 139 days at the hospital with all the beautiful staff of Neo natal unit PRM.
He has been a lovely boy at home, and we want to thank you all for helping Rooney’s development and caring for him.
He loves you all xx '
