Perfection is 60-80%, not 100%.

60-80% is sustainable. Sustainable is consistent. Consistent is real change, results, long term health and staying in shape.

That’s perfect.

Lack of results is rarely from a lack of effort, it’s usually a disconnect in the approach.

Having big goals is great, especially when it benefits your health. But not giving yourself credit for doing well isn’t ok. Unrealistic expectations around time can mean giving up too soon. You need to settle into it, get used to new habits and routines, accept there will be ups and downs, and know that’s ok.

Because thinking that 5lbs in 2 weeks is too slow almost guarantees giving up in week 3 or 4 when loss slows. If you think it isn’t worth the effort and you’re going nowhere then you won’t see the point in it, and then it’s over before you’ve given yourself a real chance.

Managing expectations can be tricky. Media gives us the idea that we can all lose extraordinary amounts of weight in ridiculously short time frames which is really unhelpful.

Lisa is in it for the long haul, not a quick fix that’ll end up with her back where she started.
Her challenge is focusing on the process, over putting a time limit on her results.

Product marketing spends billions to make you think you need something you don’t.

Don’t invest your money, time or effort until you’ve covered the basics. Do the simple things well first.

Simple doesn’t mean easy. Implementation is the hardest part and that’s what I help with.

Any questions?

Don’t let a few weeks of discomfort stop you from months of progress.

It’s nothing to do with your age, a 23 year old will get it just the same as a 53 year old.

I make sure every client knows what to expect and isn’t worried when it happens.

Did DOMS nearly stop you? What kept you going?

Controversial, but it shouldn’t be.
If you’ve been told your metabolism slows down with menopause or in your 40s, you’ve been lied to.
Weight gain is not due to your age, menopause, insulin resistance, cortisol levels or metabolism. Which is good news, because it means you have control.
Research shows resting metabolic rate stays stable from your 20s to 60s. (Pontzer et al., 2021)
If you’re done blaming your age and ready to take control of your future

Most January plans fail because they rely on motivation instead of structure.
The problem usually is trying to do too much, with too much intensity and perfection.
It’s easier to keep going when you’re more focused on what will give you the biggest impact for the least effort and time.
DM me to keep going in February.

It’s like building a business or a career when you have big goals. You can’t cheat your way there, and if you try, it won’t last. The only way to get fitter, stronger and healthier is to do the work. Anyone who says otherwise isn’t being honest.
