Hi everyone 👋🏼 I'm currently in the process of completing my advanced certificate in Clinical Supervision. I'm now offering free supervision to a limited number of people until August 2025.

I'm looking to support qualified counsellors or counsellors in the latter stages of their training who are looking for additional supervision or support.

Please give me an email at: megancassonpsychotherapy@gmail.com if interested or please share with those you think may benefit from this.

Hello 👋

As we approach the end of the year, I’d like to take a moment to thank all my clients—past and present—for the trust you’ve placed in me throughout your therapeutic journeys. It has been a privilege to witness your growth, and commitment to creating positive change in your lives.

I will be out of office from today from 2pm and will return to work on the 6th of January. Any emails or enquiries sent during this time will be responded to once I’m back.

This year has been full of personal and professional milestones for me. I end the year with well over 2,000 counselling practice hours, which is a humbling reminder of the many stories I’ve been honoured to hold. I’ve also gained additional qualifications in group therapy and outdoor therapy and am currently completing a certificate in clinical supervision.

Another highlight has been starting in-person and outdoor sessions at Dumbreck Yard. It’s been such a joy to meet some long-term clients face-to-face after years of working online, as well as start with some new.

Working outdoors has also brought such a different dimension to my practice as a counsellor and have loved seeing the unique benefits it brings to therapy. This has felt like a little bit of therapy for me too!

From January, I will be working at Dumbreck Yard 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday's) and my diary is currently open to new enquiries.

As we step into the holiday season, I hope you’re able to find moments of rest, connection, and kindness for yourself. The festive period can be a joyful time, but it can also bring up challenges. If you are finding it difficult, please remember there are always resources and people ready to support you—check the next slides for helpful contacts ❤️

Wishing you all a peaceful holiday season and a hopeful start to the new year. I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and welcoming new ones in 2025.

Take care,
Megan x

Just wandering around between sessions reflecting on the recent news and trying to comprehend what this means going forward for my American clients, friends and wider world around us.

Just thought I would share this picture that I took as I was walking which made me think about the unknown road ahead and how scary a place the world can feel right now.

I'm also thinking about all the therapists out there who are trying to navigate how to be a therapist this week whilst they process their own human emotions alongside holding space for others 🫂

Sending love and solidarity to all at this heavy time! ❤️

I think I have picked the perfect month to start working outdoors with these beautiful autumnal colours! 🍂

I've absolutely loved being outdoors with clients and feel really moved and inspired by the dialogues and moments this has created in sessions.

It’s been a big transition, but I’m so grateful to my clients for their patience with any little bumps along the way. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the space at Dumbreck Yard feels like the perfect escape from the busyness of the city.

Here's to many more outdoor sessions to come! 🌳

A really lovely day out of the office today at the BACP 'Making Connections' conference in Paisley.

I'm finishing my day feeling invigorated after meeting some really lovely counsellors and engaging speakers. I've had some really interesting and exciting conversations and look forward to putting some of this learning into practice.

Hi everyone 👋🏼 – it’s been a minute! Whilst it may have seemed quiet on the Facebook front lately, I have been hard at work behind the scenes dedicating my time to some new and exciting things to share with you all.

Earlier in the year, I had the pleasure of attending an Introduction to Outdoor Therapy workshop with . Sean is an experienced therapist and supervisor who specialises in Outdoor Therapy.

This is an idea I had been considering for a while after longing for a bit more in-person connection in my practice and time outdoors, however, I didn’t know where to begin with putting this idea into action. Sean has a wealth of knowledge about working outdoors with clients and really made this idea come alive whilst facilitating this workshop in the beautiful Po***ckpark and addressing any worries I had about taking my work outdoors. It was also lovely to connect with other like minded counsellors. I would highly recommend this workshop to other therapists looking to explore this within their practice.

After attending Sean's Introductory workshop, I pursued further Ecotherapy training with and started to explore local routes and green spaces to work in.

I can now finally say I feel at a place where I feel confident enough to open this up as an alternative option to online therapy and I am super excited to see where this new venture will lead!

If Outdoor Therapy sounds like something you would be interested in, please get in touch and I would be happy to offer more information.

In honour of pride month/festival season - I have decided to kick start the Pay it Forward fund by selling some of my crochet creations.

Crochet is a big self-care hobby/creative outlet for me and really helps me to slow down and manage some of my ADHD related symptoms. Some of these pieces are inspired by the LGBTQ+ flag colours and have had a lot of fun making these 🌈

I will be donating 75% of profits from sales to the Pay it Forward Fund which will help to provide a block of free therapy to someone who otherwise could not afford it.

The other 25% I will donate to - a local ally and LGBTQ protest group who use performance art to counteract anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric. The group integrates cabaret, music and dance into their protests to create a positive and uplifting atmosphere whilst standing up against hate speech. They have gained attention and support for their joyful and inclusive methods and work closely with other community groups and local authorities to ensure the safety of participants. Money donated will help to fund sound equipment which makes these events possible 💃🏼💖

Pieces available (in order of pictures):
Oversized Rainbow Jumper - £85 (size M)
Bisexual Flag Inspired Bucket Hat (size small) - £20 (SOLD)
Le***an Flag Inspired Bag - £40
Trans Flag Inspired bucket hat (size small)- £20
Rainbow Bucket Hat - £20 (SOLD)
Blue/pink/purple/black Bucket Hat - £20 (SOLD)

Please email me at:
megancassonpsychotherapy@gmail.com if you would like to purchase and I will email you a payment link. Prices are inclusive of postage.

If funky crochet garms aren't your thing but you would still like to contribute, you can contribute to the pay it forward fund via the link in my bio 💸 any contributions are much appreciated 🤗

Lastly, A big thank you to my gorgeous models Lauren and Ailsa ❤️

📢 Pay it Forward Fund

Text on post:
As a therapist I believe that therapy should not be a luxury and that individuals should have the freedom to find a therapist & approach that fits their needs.

The pay it forward fund is a direct response to growing socio-economic inequality & current cost of living crisis, meaning that as it currently stands - therapy is inaccessible for many.

The pay it forward fund aims to contribute to a more sustainable system of mental health through community involvement, solidarity & radical inclusivity by helping to make counselling more accessible to those who can’t afford it due to financial barriers & large waiting lists.

How will it work:
A counselling slot will be opened up when donations reach enough to fund 10 sessions (£450).

I will also offer 2 free sessions to make this up to 12 and offer a full block of therapy to someone who could otherwise not afford it.

The ‘Pay it Forward Fund’ aims to put collective community based action and kindness at the forefront, as well as promote equity within mental health.

Who can apply:
Anyone who needs therapy but can’t meet the associated expense can apply for the fund by emailing me at:

megancassonpsychotherapy@gmail.com

This 'Pay it Forward' fund will run aside typical price-per-session services and be offered on a first-come-first basis.

Please note - I also reserve a limited number of concessionary slots for those who are unemployed or on a low income

Who can donate:
Anyone who has the means can contribute to the fund via voluntary donations. Donations large or small are much appreciated!

Donations can be made via my PayPal link in my bio with the reference:

‘Pay it Forward’.

Bank transfers can also be made - for more info, email me at:
megancassonpsychotherapy@gmail.com

Any support is always greatly appreciated,
Megan
