Meet Laura: Running 5k every day 💙💛

Our Paramedic Laura is hitting the ground running this January! To raise vital funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, Laura has committed to running a minimum of 5km every single day as part of Doddie Aid: Team Scotland 2026. Her journey doesn’t stop there; she is also training for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on 10th May to raise money for St Vincent's Hospice. 🌳

MND-related charities hold a special place in Laura’s heart, and she is dedicated to supporting those living with this condition. You can support her efforts and help fund life-changing research here:

✴️ Why we’re moving for MND
Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a progressive condition that affects the brain and nerves. It leads to muscle weakness and wasting, often taking away a person’s ability to walk, talk, or breathe independently.

Because MND directly impacts mobility, Laura is encouraging everyone to "get moving" this January. Whether it’s a short walk, cycle, swim or a daily run, staying active is a powerful way to:
🏃‍♂️ Support your own physical and mental wellbeing.
💙 Show solidarity with those whose movement has been restricted by MND.
💛 Start the year right with a focus on health and community.

Every step Laura takes and every donation you make helps My Name’5 Doddie work toward their goal, a world free of MND. And St Vincent’s hospice to support and maximise the quality of life of those living with life limiting illnesses.

Let’s get moving together 💙💙

At Alliance, we know that looking after one another is a year-round commitment. However, we recognise that the holiday season can be particularly challenging. High expectations and additional pressures can make this time of year difficult for many people in our community.

To help, the entire team at Alliance has come together to collect a variety of long-shelf-life food and essential items. We have donated to Renfrewshire Food Giveaway to support individuals and families who may need a bit of extra help this winter.

Small acts of kindness can make a big difference to someone’s mental and physical well-being. We are proud of our team for their contributions and remain committed to supporting individuals in the communities we serve today and throughout the year ahead.

Last week, Santa needed a little help getting back home in time for Christmas, so our Director, Archie, dropped by the North Pole to check on how he was settling in back home.

Santa let Archie know he was a little behind on crafting some gifts. Archie suggested given his stature, he would fit right in with the tiny elves in the workshop! While visiting, he rolled up his sleeves to help the elves build toys and coordinated some extra support for those in need this season.

There’s was a new face around the office today!

Meet Henry, our official Welfare Support Officer/Pawramedic. He spent the day checking in on our office staff, offering plenty of tail wags, and providing some much-needed "paws-itive" vibes.

Working during the busy holiday period can be tough, but Henry is here to make sure our hardworking team gets a little extra love and a moment of calm when they need it most 🎾💛

Help us welcome Henry to the team in the comments!

Mission Accomplished: Save Christmas 🚑🎄

It looks like Santa needed a little help back to the North Pole during yesterday’s shift. We are happy to confirm he has been successfully repatriated by the Alliance Ambulance team and Christmas will now continue as planned! 😉

We had a great time taking part in , and thanks to everyone who participated, our staff raised a fantastic £100 for Save the Children to which we will match with a contribution of £200 meaning a total donation of £300 for Save the Children has been raised!

Show us your own festive knits! Drop a photo of your Christmas jumpers from yesterday in the comments below! 👇
