Giovedì 15 maggio torna Arts & Chats con una special edition in collaborazione con La Via dei Versi, nel bellissimo giardino di Fabbrica Teatro (Via Caronda 82, Catania).

Una serata per disconnettersi dalla routine e riconnettersi con la propria creatività, senza pressioni né aspettative.

Laboratorio artistico dalle ore 20:00 alle 22:00 | 15€ (materiali + drink inclusi). A seguire reading poetico.

Com’è, dove e quando nato Arts&Chats

Era il 2022, in Scozia. Il lockdown era ormai alle spalle, ma qualcosa era rimasto nell’aria: un silenzio strano, un senso di distanza tra le persone, quasi una paura. Dopo anni di chiusura, sentivo che il bisogno di stare insieme, di riconoscerci, di parlarci davvero... era diventato urgente.

Così ho deciso di creare uno spazio. Uno spazio semplice, dove l’arte potesse essere un pretesto per incontrarsi, raccontarsi, ascoltarsi. Lo facevo già da tempo nei miei laboratori come community worker, ma stavolta era diverso, non era per le community svantaggiate, ma per persone come me. Si, perchè già post university è difficile fare amicizie, poi post-lockdown era diventato impossibile.

È così che è nato Arts&Chats.

Sono successe cose belle. Persone che non si conoscevano si sono unite per creare insieme. Qualcuno ha trovato uno spazio per esprimersi, altri per respirare.

E ora che tutto questo è arrivato anche a Catania, porto con me quella stessa scintilla. Perché certe connessioni non si spengono: si trasformano, crescono, si radicano altrove.

🌿 Se ami un fiore, non raccoglierlo. 🌿

L’amore non è possesso.

Spesso confondiamo l’amore con il bisogno di tenere qualcosa – o qualcuno – tutto per noi. Ma l’amore vero non soffoca, non stringe, non trattiene. L’amore vero lascia spazio. Permette di crescere, di evolversi, di essere.

Se ami un fiore, lascialo vivere. Osservalo mentre si apre alla luce, mentre si trasforma con il tempo. Non hai bisogno di possederlo per godere della sua bellezza.

E lo stesso vale per le persone. L’amore non è trattenere, controllare, cambiare. Amare è accogliere, rispettare e lasciare libero.

💛 Questa volta non parlo di arte, ma di qualcosa che sento. Con San Valentino alle porte, volevo condividere un pensiero sull’amore: se devi stringerlo per paura di perderlo, non è amore.

Cosa significa per te amare senza possedere? 💬✨

🌿 If you love a flower, don’t pick it. 🌿

Love is not possession.

We often mistake love for the need to keep something – or someone – all to ourselves. But true love doesn’t suffocate, doesn’t cling, doesn’t control. True love gives space. It allows growth, change, and freedom.

If you love a flower, let it live. Watch it bloom in the sunlight, see how it transforms with time. You don’t need to own it to appreciate its beauty.

And the same goes for people. Love isn’t about holding on, controlling, or changing someone. Loving means embracing, respecting, and letting go when needed.

💛 This isn’t about art today, but something I feel deeply. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I wanted to share this thought: if you have to hold it tight out of fear of losing it, it’s not love.

Spesso rimandiamo un’idea, un progetto, un sogno… perché abbiamo paura di non farlo nel modo giusto.

Ma sai qual è l’unico vero errore? Non iniziare affatto.

La perfezione è un’illusione, e cercarla a tutti i costi ci blocca. Il vero valore sta nel processo: nel provare, nello sperimentare, nell’esprimersi senza paura del giudizio.

🎨✨ Quindi lascia andare l’insicurezza. Prendi quel pennello, scrivi quella pagina, inizia quel progetto. Farlo in modo imperfetto sarà sempre meglio che non farlo affatto.

"Non sei un’artista."

Quante volte ce lo siamo sentiti dire? Dagli altri, dai nostri insegnanti, dalla società. O peggio, da noi stessi.

"Non sei abbastanza brav."
"Non è il tuo talento."
"Meglio lasciar perdere."

Ci hanno insegnato che l’arte è solo per pochi, che bisogna essere straordinari, perfetti, originali. Ma la verità è un’altra.

L’arte non è un titolo che qualcuno ti concede. Non è solo tecnica, successo o riconoscimento. L’arte è espressione. È il coraggio di sperimentare, di raccontarsi attraverso forme, colori e segni – anche quando non sono "giusti".

Quella voce che ti blocca? Prova ad abbassarne il volume. Prendi una matita, un pennello, qualsiasi cosa… e crea.

Hai mai sentito quella voce? Come hai risposto?

How many times have we heard this? From others, from teachers, from society. Or worse, from ourselves.

"You're not good enough."
"It's not your talent."
"Better not even try."

We've been taught that art is only for a select few, that you have to be extraordinary, perfect, original. But the truth is something else entirely.

Art isn’t a title someone gives you. It’s not just about technique, success, or recognition. Art is expression. It’s the courage to experiment, to tell your story through shapes, colors, and lines – even when they don’t seem "right."

That voice holding you back? Try turning down the volume. Grab a pencil, a brush, anything… and create.

🌟 Little Life & Arts Update! 🎨✨

Hey everyone! I haven't been posting much here lately – Facebook seems full of ads, and posts don’t always reach people. But I still wanted to share some exciting updates with you!

🎨🗣Arts&Chats is growing!I'm now running these creative meetups once a month, and it’s been amazing to see the community flourish. If you haven't joined yet, it's all about creativity, connection, and a relaxed space to explore art together.

🌍 Building an online & offline creative space – I’m slowly working on ways to create a stronger community, both in-person and online. Lots of ideas are brewing, but I’m taking it step by step.

🎨 Back to my own art – Amidst all the events and planning, I’ve also started focusing on my personal art again. It feels great to reconnect with my creativity!

More to come soon, but for now, thank you for all the support – whether you’ve come to an event, sent kind words, or simply followed along. 💛

"I started my coaching sessions with Silvia a few months ago when I was feeling overwhelmed by the endless tasks piling up each day. At the same time, I was undergoing psychoanalysis to address similar challenges. Silvia's sessions were incredibly insightful, helping me identify the root causes of my stress and make meaningful progress toward my goals.

is on the move, and so is creativity!

It’s been a year since I returned to , and I must say I’m deeply surprised (and happy!) to see how many initiatives are springing up. Catania is becoming a fertile ground for and, even more importantly, for .

There are growing, people coming together to collaborate, support each other, and shine together. It’s amazing to witness this positive transformation, and I’m proud to contribute, in my own small way, to this creative energy.

Meanwhile, I’m thrilled to announce my next two workshops:

🎨 On December 7th, I’ll be part of a new initiative called ArtLand, designed to promote local artists and create opportunities for expression. It is already sold out—a great sign that creativity is more alive than ever!

🎶 On December 12th, I’ll host a special workshop combining and , in collaboration with a guitarist and a transverse flute.

Art isn’t just for artists! It has profound benefits: it stimulates creativity, enhances emotional well-being, and, most importantly, helps build community. When we sit together, brush or pastel in hand, we explore not only but also the power of authentic connection.

I’m grateful to be part of this creative movement, and I can’t wait to keep exploring, sharing, and growing together.

Our Story

ARTernatives is a way of living. It is about finding positive and creative solutions to problems, and Art is the best teacher of all.

When you start an Art Project, things never work as smoothly as you plan them to be, in fact, you pretty much spend most of the time looking for solutions and exploring different ways to overcome the drawback in front of you. At the end, the project is quite what you pictured in your head, but it is even better because you know all the difficulties you faced and how you overcome those to produce that piece of work. And you learn that not everything can turn out the way we want it to be. And you learn to accept and let it go.

And the best thing is that you don't need to be an artist to make art, the purpose is to have fun and use your imagination!

My hope is to encourage more people to express themselves through creative methods, to challenge themselves and be willing to learn during the process. And let’s be honest, life with a bit of glitter is even better!
