Produ[k]t Event Production & Decoration

Produ[k]t designs, develops and installs production for events across Scotland, and mainly focuses on creating fully immersive audio-visual clubbing environments. Designer Marco Biagini is a Masters graduate from the GSA in both Product Design Engineering and Sound for Moving Image, and has written a thesis on the Therapeutic Implications of sensory stimulation, particularly using immersive surrou

nd sound technology. Using this knowledge Produ[k]t aims to improve event experiences through the synthesis of sensory stimuli, particularly focusing on the connections between light, colour and sound. Produ[k]t has worked with the likes of Optimo, Bigfoot's Tea Party, Mungo's HiFi and I Am in venues across Scotland, catering for a variety of different sound and visual requirements. Produ[k]t has also co-designed large-scale stage & lighting arrays at the Big Beach Ball Festival 2012 and 2013, and at T in the Park's Sub Club stage in 2012.

A big thank you to The Skinny for mentioning Produ[k]t and all the others who work hard to make Philanthrobeats the aural and visual spectacle it is.

Next up we have Optimo (Espacio) on 13th September at Chambre 69! All proceeds will go to Médecins Sans Frontières.

Charity no longer starts in the home; it now begins in the club. We find out about a unique clubbing project bringing together good causes and some of Glasgow's best DJs

Iration Steppas bring their unique industrial dub sound to Chambre69. It was only natural (excuse the pun) that the production of this night would have to echo the metallic, futuristic, year 3000 sound of Steppa's music. Scaffolding, scrap metal and just about anything we could find went up in the stage area to accompany the vanguards of dub.

Mungo's Hi Fi & Chungo-Bungo meet Kenny Knots

Here's a video shot by the rather talented Bart Photography, showing how things come together before the events. 'Ave a swatch.

This film was shot on the evening of 25th February 2012, in Glasgow at Chambre 69, as Mungo's Hi Fi and Chungo-Bungo set up for the Scotch Bonnet session with Charlie P that night, alongside party production whizz Produkt. The soundtrack is an unreleased...

Chungo-Bungo all-day party held at The Courtyard, an outdoor venue in Glasgow.

Hosting Brother Culture and King's HiFi, Chungo-Bungo provided hours' worth of reggae, dub, rocksteady, dancehall and dubstep on the huge Dub Alliance Soundsystem.

Focusing on reggae's association with nature, its Afro-Carribean roots, and the colours of Ethioia (R/G/Y), Produ[k]t created a forest environment inside the venue. Due to the high-walled enclosed space that is the Courtyard's outdoor space, the forest, created from real foliage attached to the walls, pipes and banniesters, was naturally immersive.

During the day, the colourful plant-life was a nice reminder of the venue's outdoor space within a surrounding urban environment, and was lit nicely by the natural sunlight making for a nice place to sit, relax and listen to reggae music.

As the night progressed the sunlight began to disappear and the music slowly got louder and heavier. By the time the headline act appeared night had settled in and the atmosphere of the venue had completely changed. The soft sunlight was replaced by a pitch black sky and an array of red, green and yellow lighting. Over the course of the day, the once colourful plant-life gradually died and withered, and this, paired with the heavier bass, created a much darker and foreboding jungle environment.

All of this was supplemented by vinyl and log-cuttings all hand-painted by Produ[k]t with the (CB) logo.
