Colette Robinson Civil Funeral Celebrant

Colette Robinson Civil Funeral Celebrant Creating beautiful and unique funeral ceremonies for your loved ones.

Yesterday, as I do every year, I was struggling with my submission for the funeral awards. It hit harder because I'd usually call my biggest cheerleader and number one supporter, my mum, dangerous Doreen. This year I can't.
So I pulled out my box with all the cards and notes, as well as all the pictures your children have drawn me and I sat with a glass of wine and read through them.
It helped me so much to read all your really kind words and gave me the wee boost I needed. With that and a wee pep talk from the lovely Acts of Dove I've finally managed to press the submit button! Now it's all in the judges hands.
So this is a huge thank you to all of you for your continued support. It really does mean the world to me. C xx

Good luck, Karen & Tom!

Good luck, Karen & Tom!

Tom and I are doing something a bit out of our comfort zone… we’re taking on a skydive on 30th May.

Not for the thrill of it, but to raise funds for Richmond’s Hope — a charity that supports children and young people through grief.

We see first-hand how loss affects families, and the support they provide is so important. They give children a safe space to understand what they’re feeling and help them find a way through it.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it really would mean a lot to us — and to the children and families who need that support.

Thank you for taking the time to read this 🤍

Like many, I have been following the news regarding Legacy Funeral Directors in Hull. My heart hurts for all the families involved. What was already a distressing time was made worse by the abhorrent acts of Robert Bush.It is completely understandable that people may now lose faith in the funeral industry and worry about their own loved ones.
For over a decade I have worked beside many funeral directors, all of whom treat the people in their care with the utmost dignity and respect. Their dedication to providing the best care means that they will always welcome your questions and answer your concerns. Never be afraid to approach your funeral director about anything that is worrying you.

Robert Bush was not a funeral director, he was a con man and a criminal. My thoughts are with everyone affected by him.

Unfortunately I have been on the receiving end of a completely creepy phonecall this evening.
It isn't just me, this person has been making calls to Celebrants across the country. It can be unnerving and disturbing and I'll admit that it shook me for a moment. So this is just a little heads up to my fellow Celebrants. Calls are coming in at around 9-10pm from an unknown number. For the moment, if you have call screening available on your phone it may be a good option to use it.
There is a post in the Celebrants Collective about reporting to police.
Be vigilant and look out for eachother xx C x

Once again Nicola has gone above and beyond x Honestly , this lady is amazing!! So proud to have her as not only a fellow Celebrant but as a friend 🩷

Today we remembered D who was 100 years young. He loved gardening, roping in his family and carers to help when he was less able.
Music was also a hobby in its own right. D was an early adopter of Stereo; always fiddling with amplifiers and other bits of Hi-Fi to enhance the sound. Most of his family felt the sound was absolutely fine but not D - he was always looking for perfection.

These are the comments that mean the world but that shouldn't ever have to be said.
I am, always have been and always will be a funeral celebrant for everyone.
It saddened me that I have to reiterate that.
To the lovely G's family, your words mean the world xx C

Little things can have such a huge impact. Yesterday at the wedding of the wonderful Karen and Tom, I arrived at my table to find a candle that my mum made before she died. The love and thoughtfulness that went into that gesture was completely overwhelming and greatly appreciated 🩷
One simple act of kindness that warmed my heart and made my day!
Love you, my wee lovey dovey Acts of Dove 🩷
