👏 Congratulations to David Neylon, of Delap & Waller, who received the EU Honourable Mention in our VE User of the Year 2025 awards🏆for his energy model of Dublin’s Heuston Station: a historic Irish landmark, built in 1845, that has never been modelled before.

Delap and Waller's energy model of Heuston Station has successfully identified significant carbon savings crucial for Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail’s net zero 2050 target. Through IESVE simulation and careful consultation with heritage experts, the analysis outlines financially feasible energy upgrades that respect the station's historical importance.

Energy modelling objectives:
🔹 Accurately model the existing historic building
🔹 Optimise the performance of the existing built assets
🔹 Test potential retrofit scenarios to identify carbon savings for Net Zero 2050
🔹 Provide data on the savings from combining different retrofit options
🔹 Make post-retrofit updates to confirm that the retrofit performed as intended.
✅ Modelling analysis indicates energy ratings can be improved from F to B3, achieving over 62% savings
