2024 has been a year of letting go as I learn to live with my new identity as a .

🚩This has included letting go of
• ‘Should’ ing to shame myself into doing things for external validation when they are not supportive of my own needs.
• People pleasing to avoid conflict.
• Self-criticism
• Fear of being my authentic self.

🚩I’ve had to make some empowering decisions about how I spend my time and energy - to let go of old habits of trying to fit in and put others needs and societal expectations before my own needs.

🙏However, as I have moved through each challenge and the process of getting clear about my boundaries and support needs, I have found that I have felt so much more confident in my own identity and drawn to people and places that I feel comfortable to be around, and who understand me and my strengths in a way that I have never allowed myself to experience before.

🧠A big part of this journey has been the learning in the course that has taught me to understand how the brain works differently with and how gender differences in our physiology and societal expectations can affect how we respond to these differences.

Kim Raine has been such an amazing source of inspiration and support, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with her on this journey as it has brought me more peace and self acceptance than I have ever had in my life so far.

🎉 I am so excited to be taking this learning to support my clients as -rebel coaching and consultancy.

👇Kim is running a free masterclass to learn about the training if you want to see how it could help you- more details here:

It’s been five weeks since I left employment to step into trust and full commitment to being as the owner of my business .
I have a lot of people to thank for helping me to step up and focus on growing in a space that works with my strengths as I learn to understand how my brain works.
One of them is the fabulous ⭐️ Kim Raine ⭐️ who along with her wonderful community has been supporting me over the past year as I navigated the journey of getting my diagnosis and learning to love my neurospicy brain instead of hiding it and masking .
I’ve spent the last six months learning how to not only support myself but training as a certified with Kim and this week I’m proud to be graduating alongside the other fabulous students who have been on the same journey.
Kim is running a this week to show how to support people like me, and showcase her brilliant practitioner training , if you’d like to join the free event, here’s a link.

Dr Peta Stapleton explains so brilliantly how the latest research shows how works.

Advances in neuroscience allow the mechanisms of acupoint tapping protocols to be explained. A range of hormonal and neurological shifts reliably follows acupoint tapping sessions 💖

E.g., reductions in cortisol production; normalization of brain-wave patterns; shifts in blood flow within the brain and changes in gene expression.

The Question Is: How and Why these protocols work?

After a target learning has been reactivated and mismatched, its neural circuits remain in a deconsolidated or labile state for about 5 hours

e.g. you ask a client to tell the story of what happened as they do EFT Tapping

It is during this “reconsolidation window” that the target learning is directly revisable by new learning and can be radically unlearned and no longer exist in emotional memory (without impairing autobiographical memory)

After 5 hours the labile neural circuits naturally reconsolidate and can no longer be altered by new learning, until reactivation and mismatch experiences are again created.

There are 3 steps to making this work -

1. Reactivate - Re-trigger the target knowledge by presenting cues or contexts from the original learning (e.g., talk about what happened and feel it all over again);
2. Mismatch - With reactivation occurring, create an experience that is significantly different with the target learning’s model and expectations of how the world functions. This step unlocks synapses and renders memory circuits labile (susceptible to being updated) EFT tapping provides this (as do other approaches) because the body is kept calm while they 'tell the story';
3. Erase or revise via new learning - repetitions of step 2 (keep tapping until there is little to no reaction in the body at the same time) - then test it a week or so later (to check!)

In transformational change, an unwanted state of mind, behaviour, or somatic disturbance ceases completely and lastingly, and no effort is needed for maintaining this liberating shift… 💗 The participants in our research trials can't remember what they tapped on when we follow them up 💗

Transformational change is the result of profound unlearning through the memory reconsolidation process - Dr Bruce Ecker

How I Found My Flow With EFT

I started @CreativeLeaderEFT after a life-changing year of discovering how powerful using Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) could be. From helping a friend as a case study for their own practitioner training, I had some amazing breakthroughs with challenges that were really affecting my life, and also discovered some blocks that I thought I had cleared with other therapy techniques but were still holding me back.

From my first session, I was hungry to find out more, and soon got stuck into the online world of EFT resources and meditations that are available, but they are no substitute for that human connection and skilled guidance and support you get with an empathetic and accredited practitioner. I completed my training with AAMET (now EFT international), and spent a year building a portfolio of case studies with over 50 hours of client time, helping them release past traumas and overcome limiting beliefs and phobias. This work is so rewarding and no two sessions are ever alike, which keeps it exciting and fascinating too!

As our brains are so amazing, they can be reprogrammed using the right combination of techniques so that memories (and our emotional responses to them) can be reduced in intensity or reframed to something more positive and beneficial to our wellbeing. As trauma and memories of adverse experiences can become ‘hardwired’ or locked away in our minds to protect us from re-experiencing them, we often need to work slowly and in a safe and supported manner to enable the client to access and release in a non-traumatising way. EFT practitioners are trained to work in a safe and supportive manner and use a range of methods that allow the client to access and release at their own pace.

If you would like a consultation, either in person or by telephone or online, then please get in touch. I am also available to speak to your school, group or business and talk about EFT and lead group sessions.
