Too many women still feel excluded from physical activity. Research shows:

🔹 Only 9% of women in the campaign audience are active in a typical week.
🔹 Only 1 in 10 feel they completely belong in the world of physical activity.
🔹 Almost 1 in 6 have felt so unwelcome they never went back.

This is why We Like the Way You Move matters — to show that movement is for every woman, no matter her background, age or ability.

Self-Care September: Week 2 - Be Active 🌿

Self-Care September is a month-long initiative dedicated to promoting self-care practices that improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

This week, we’re celebrating movement in all its forms!

Being active doesn’t have to mean going to the gym or running marathons. It could be walking the dog, dancing in your kitchen, taking the stairs, or joining a local class. Whatever gets you moving and makes you feel good - that’s your kind of active.

Regular movement boosts your mood, reduces stress, and helps you feel more connected to your body and your community.

📢 IMPORTANT NEWS 📢

After more than 7 years with us – including the last 5 as our CEO – Tom Beasley will be stepping down.

Tom has been an incredible leader. From guiding us through the challenges of the pandemic to setting a bold new vision for the county, his work has left a lasting impact. Together, we’ve built stronger partnerships, secured long-term investment, and inspired more people across Gloucestershire to move more, feel healthier and be better connected.

Tom has said: “I’m proud of the achievements made during my time at Active Gloucestershire and I’m leaving with many incredible memories. The organisation is in the strongest possible position to continue and build on the strong foundations we’ve laid together.”

We can’t thank Tom enough for his passion and dedication 💙

Now, we’re starting the exciting search for our next Chief Executive – someone who shares our vision of making movement part of everyday life in Gloucestershire.
