Know Your Numbers! week runs from Monday, 8 September to Sunday, 14 September 2025.

Around a third of people in the UK have high blood pressure, but most don’t know it. High blood pressure doesn’t have any ‘symptoms’ so the only way to find out is to have a blood pressure check.

We are supporting the Blood Pressure UK campaign with a series of drop-in events across East Riding to raise awareness of our health and wellbeing offer and for residents to get checked.

The new East Riding Local Offer website has launched to provide families with a more accessible and engaging place to go for information about SEND support and services.

Councillor Victoria Aitken, cabinet member for children, families and education said: “Our shared ambition is to ensure that every child and young person with special educational needs and disabilities can thrive, learn, and grow within an inclusive and supportive community. A key part of that is ensuring families know who to contact or where to find information quickly – and the Local Offer website is often that first place for families."
