Today's headline in the Goole Times stating "no services" will be lost at Goole & District Hospital looks very promising for the future.

However what is happening in reality with peoples lived experiences daily is quite different.

This week alone we have had :-

A patient told by a member of staff at Scunthorpe they need to go to Grimsby for an ECG as they couldn't have it done at Goole- only when challenged was it made for Goole!!!

A patient told that they will need to go to Grimsby for orthopaedic surgery as the consultant is leaving and so no orthopaedic surgery will be available at Goole- there is more than one orthopaedic surgeon who operates at Goole!!!

A patient told their Rheumotology appt can't be at Goole as no clinics there- not true!!!

A staff member told the plans for their unit may have to be "put on the back burner" for now!!!

There was nothing about all the services that have already been lost in the last few years, some under the leadership of the director who gave the exclusive intervew.

We need actions not words. After all lets not forget they have been deliberating over the future of the hospital for nearly a year already. 🤔🤷‍♀️🤔🤷‍♀️

Coming soon (sooner than planned)! A women's circle in Goole - think Andy's Man Club but for women. I have been working towards this for sometimes and was in the planning stage when I saw someone local asking if there was anything in Goole.

It reminded me that everything doesn't have to be perfect, we don't always have to be ready, sometimes we need to get cracking and work the details out as we go - so that's what I'm doing!
