The story I’ve learnt this week is the story of “Jack”

Late one evening a man was driving down a country road and he got a flat tire. He pulled his car over to the side of the road and looked for his spare tire, he found his tire but to his annoyance he forgot to put a jack in his car. Looking around to see if he could get any help, he noticed a house amongst the trees with the lights on.

The man decided to walk through the trees towards the house.

On the way he started telling himself little scenarios in his head

“What if they don’t have a Jack”
“What if they are not in”
“What if they will not help me”
“What if they laugh at me”

When he finally reached the house, do you know what happened? They answered the door and the first thing the guy said to the home owners was…

“ I don’t want your Jack anyway” and he walked away annoyed!

The moral of the story is, we can keep telling ourselves negative things that we begin to believe it ourselves and we look to what could happen and what ifs instead of remaining positive on a situation.

Karuna compassion

The water was not afraid to go where I needed it to go…

When I prayed into the water and asked it to heal and help me and to heal any shame and guilt which did not serve me, it was the water that carried it to where I needed it to go.

For there is nothing we have suffered that we cannot heal within ourselves.

To refuse yourself this embrace when you are already suffering, amplifies the pain you are already experiencing.
