And so a New Year has begun, this means lots of social media posts, or conversations, around goals for the year ahead πŸ’¬

Whilst goals can be useful for some people, for others it just makes things feel overwhelming πŸ˜”

Remember to remain in your truth, making realistic goals or planting small seeds, don't feel pressured into matching the expectations of others πŸ™πŸ»

We all have dreams of how we would like our lives to be πŸ’

Ask yourself today, am I living my dream? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

If the answer is 'no' then take a moment to ask yourself "why not?" 😊

The first step is understanding what barriers are in your way 😁

Have a beautiful day πŸ’œ

Christmas can be a really difficult time, and if you’re feeling overwhelmed or in crisis, please remember that you are not alone and help is available.

We’ve shared some important emergency and support numbers that can be used over the Christmas period. Reaching out is a strength, not a failure β€” whether you need immediate help or just someone to talk to.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please use these numbers or seek urgent help if you are in danger. Your safety and wellbeing matter, today and always.

Please share πŸ’›

The pressure to do everything at this time of year is intense! πŸŽ„

The socialising, the endless list of things to buy, the finding time to wrap or cook or shop.... So much energy is needed to take on all of these extra tasks πŸ¦₯

It's really important to remember that sometimes just being in the moment, or taking time to pause, is the most beneficial and productive thing you can do πŸ™πŸ»

The festive season comes and goes but your mental wellbeing will ALWAYS matter πŸ’œ

Christmas can be a challenging time for people in recovery. The pressure to feel happy, family dynamics, loneliness, memories, and changes to routine can all be triggering.

Some simple steps that may help:
Keep a gentle routine
Lower expectations – it’s okay if Christmas looks different this year
Plan ahead for difficult moments
Stay connected with supportive people
Take time out when things feel overwhelming
Eat, rest, and look after your body
Use the tools that support your recovery
Ask for help early – you don’t have to struggle alone
Focus on today, not the whole season

If all you do this Christmas is stay sober and safe, that is more than enough. One day at a time πŸ’›

This is so important! πŸ‘‡πŸ»

RapeCrisis England & Wales are playing a vital role in busting myths πŸ’ͺ🏻

Please reach out for support if you have been effected by r**e or sexual abuse πŸ™πŸ»

People are here to listen without any judgement πŸ’œ

Rapists CHOOSE to r**e.

It's not because they were sexually abused as children - the reality is that most victims and survivors of child sexual abuse NEVER r**e or sexually abuse other people.

There is never, ever an excuse for sexual abuse or any other type of sexual violence against anyone - children or adults.

Accountability must lie with the perpetrator, always.
