Today I delivered the service of my wonderful friend of over 40 years, Bill. It was the hardest service I have ever had to deliver, and that’s not because of my sore throat. Rest in peace you lovely man, we all miss you terribly ### 😘

I just wanted to share this beautiful poem for anyone who is struggling. It was sent to me by a family I am currently helping.

Remember to always be kind. You never know what another person may be going through ###

The Mountain:

If the mountain seems too big today,
then climb a hill instead.
If the morning brings you sadness,
it’s ok to stay in bed.

If the day ahead weighs heavy,
and your plans feel like a curse,
there’s no shame in rearranging,
don’t make yourself feel worse.

If a shower stings like needles,
and a bath feels like you’ll drown,
if you havn’t washed your hair for days,
don’t throw away your crown.

A day is not a lifetime,
a rest is not defeat,
don’t think of it as failure,
just a quiet, kind, retreat.

It’s ok to take a moment,
from an anxious, fractured mind,
the world will not stop turning,
while you get realigned.

The mountain will still be there
when you want to try again,
you can climb it in your own time,
Just love yourself ‘til then.

Today I delivered the service of a lovely gentleman who was almost 102 years old. I left that crematorium to go to a different crematorium to pay tribute to a wonderful cousin. Tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to yet another wonderful cousin.

Being surrounded by so much death is always such a good reminder that we should be kind to ourselves and kind to each other. No one knows “what’s around that corner”, so live well, laugh lots and hug those people that you love. Life is SO short, enjoy every moment x

Being a Celebrant is not an easy choice of career. Today I delivered the service of a truly wonderful person who has spent their entire life giving. This wonderful person is still giving in death, with the gift of life through organ donations and, to date, has saved two lives, and is still to give someone the gift of sight.

I find all of the services I deliver hard but, this one was especially difficult as it is so sad to say goodbye to such a beautiful soul.

Tonight I light this candle in your memory and, I also light it for both you and your devastated soul mate.

A lovely walk with Arlo after leading a Celebration of Life service for yet another wonderful person. Having been through my own crushing losses and knowing just how devastating the feeling of loss and grief are, it never ceases to amaze me how the beauty around us continues and how life just goes on, despite the overwhelming emotions of the family. Rest in peace Jane x
