Leaking when you sneeze? Feeling heavy, bloated or disconnected in your body during menopause?

🌻 As a pelvic health physio, I see how common these symptoms are - and how often women are told to just ‘put up with it’.

That’s exactly why I created my Pelvic Health & Menopause Pilates group: gentle, evidence-based movement designed to support core strength, pelvic floor function, posture, balance and confidence during midlife.

Small group sessions | suitable for all levels | supportive environment | Weekly education topics to enable you to move forwards.

LOVED classes tonight! 🏋️‍♀️
So much progress seen in a short space of time & ladies all understanding how their bodies move and work more.

Each week we build on the previous week, learning new movements, making it harder and working for more control - so we strive for safe movement, not perfecting straight away.

Tonight I stole this exercise form from a recent class I loved off and loved how it felt so wanted to share it with my ladies too🙋‍♀️🩷

Keep an eye on my socials over the next week if you’d like to get involved with the Wildflower crew 🩷

Research suggests a positive link between vitamin D status & estrogen levels in postmenopausal women 🌻

Studies have found that lower estradiol levels are often associated with lower Vitamin D levels after menopause - highlighting an important connection between hormones, bone health & healthy aging.

Maybe the full shelf of supplements isn’t needed after all?

Practicing what I preach day in & day out. Being fit and healthy so that I’m able to be present as a physiotherapist for you guys is exactly what I strive for.
With the help of - we continue to build on foundations and progress functionally.

A recent study found that women who strength train regularly have a significantly lower risk of all-cause mortality and heart disease. Another 2025 study in JAMA Network Open found greater muscular strength was directly associated with lower mortality in women aged 63–99. Strength really is long-term health insurance.

Building muscle is about so much more than aesthetics — it’s bone health, confidence, mobility, independence, and longevity.

And it’s never too late to start 🌻💛

Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week may be coming to an end, but maternal mental health support is needed every single day 🌻💛

Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, trying to conceive, grieving, adjusting to parenthood, or supporting someone who is - your mental health matters, and you deserve support without judgement.

There are some incredible organisations offering support, information and safe spaces for those struggling with perinatal mental health:

🤍 Maternal Mental Health Alliance — working to ensure everyone affected by perinatal mental health difficulties can access compassionate, high-quality care and support.

🤍 MASIC Foundation — supporting women and birthing people affected by birth injuries, including OASI injuries, through advocacy, peer support and education.

🤍 PANDAS Foundation — offering free support services for parents, families and partners affected by perinatal mental illness, including helplines and peer support.

If you are struggling, please know you are not alone, and reaching out for help is a sign of strength — not weakness.

If you or someone you know needs urgent mental health support:
📞 Call 999 if you or somebody else is in immediate danger.
📞 Contact Samaritans free anytime on 116 123 for confidential emotional support 24/7.

Please continue checking in on mums, parents and families — this conversation matters far beyond one awareness week 🤍

Pelvic girdle pain is often spoken about during pregnancy.
Google tells you your pelvis is loose & wobbly, or out of alignment, others tell you to ‘just rest’, and the final part I hear all the time is ‘you’ll have to just put up with it until baby is born’.

Well here’s the truth: your pelvis isn’t loose, it’s safe** to move & can help with pain, rest can help but not too much of it, you do not have to put up with it. Birth isn’t the only way out.

It’s important you understand how your body moves & can move safely, and with this, comes Women’s health physiotherapists!

I treat women weekly with symptoms of PGP and help them to improve their symptoms and live a better life with less pain.

If you’re in this situation; reach out, I’m always here to help🩷

**information based on a general population. Always follow your midwife & consultant advise & consult a professional for a 1:1 assessment for individualised advise and guidance

From struggling to walk up and down the stairs to Team UK!🤩

Super proud of Emma Jane - representing Team UK at the International Mix & Breed Championship Agility competition in August 🩷

Most of you know this is my mum, but has also been the person that I pulled around & learnt on when I was at uni, and now as a practicing physiotherapist can provide treatment and plans to. 🩷

Week 3/6 of our first block of pelvic health & menopause Pilates group.

Tonight we pushed on with some slightly harder movements and working into balance & proprioception.

We also discussed GSM (genito-urinary syndrome of menopause), its signs and symptoms, why we feel some of these symptoms and how we can manage this - including YES! VM, good quality water based lubricants (SUTIL, YES!) and other lifestyle factors that can help.

The biggest take away I’ve seen in the last 3 weeks is that all of my ladies are moving with more confidence and using each other in the group to laugh and have support. It is so lovely to see.

The 6 week post-partum check is often treated like a ‘green light’ to “get back to normal”… but recovery isn’t always that simple.

So many people are left thinking they are fine… when reality is; they’ve just not been fully assessed.

You deserve more than a 5-10 minute sign off. You deserve thorough, specialist assessment and guidance to recovery.

Save this if you needed the reminder 🌻
Share this with someone who’s been told ‘you’re all good’ at 6 weeks🌻💛

Leaking with exercise is common… but it’s not something you have to just “put up with”

It’s often a sign your system isn’t managing pressure well - not just a “weak pelvic floor”

Things I look at with my clients:
• how you’re breathing under load
• how you manage impact (running, jumping, lifting)
• whether you’re over-bracing or constantly “holding on”
• timing + coordination of the pelvic floor (not just strength)

Pelvic floor exercises alone won’t fix this if the whole system isn’t working well together

Start by:
– Exhaling through effort (don’t hold your breath)
– Reducing unnecessary tension
– Building gradually back into impact

If this is happening to you, you’re not alone - and it’s very treatable with the right approach.

Save this if you’re working on it, or share with someone who needs to hear it!🌻💛
