Oh my goodness so long since I have posted. Here’s a little update of what I have been up to:-

* The Acupuncture Clinic has been super busy - its been so wonderful to help so many women and see them get better. Unfortunately, as it is so busy I have decided to move to a waitlist for new acupuncture patients for the next few months. New patient slots may come up sooner so definitely do get in touch if you would like to be put on the list. There is a contact form you can use on my website.

* The clinic has had a little change around - giving us more room. Patients have loved it and so do I. I will pop on a little video clip on here so you can see the new layout in all its glory. All patient files are now held electronically which means I can answer any questions you may have faster with easier access to your notes.

*Earlier this month I presented to the amazing practitioners who are part of the fabulous .life.tribe about who I am and how I can help women. Very excited to be part of the team going to the in September.

* Coming soon....The Menopause Herbalist.......due to demand.....helping more women who aren’t able to get to the clinic physically via on-line consultations with herbal prescriptions. There is still work to do on this behind the scenes but I hope to share more with you in the next few weeks. I am so excited to help more and more women and make herbs more accessible to help women feel better.

Do get in touch if you have any questions or I can help in any way.

If you have a private medical insurance policy, you may be entitled to claim for full or partial costs of your treatment.

Many insurance companies accept British Acupuncture Council members to offer treatment for a various number of medical conditions.

Please do check your individual policy to see if you can claim for treatment costs. I would love to see if I can help you feel better.

Jane had been suffering for years with hot flushes, night sweats and disturbed sleep. It was a pleasure to help her with her treatment plan and get her feeling better using acupuncture and herbs.

Please do get in touch (link in bio) if I can help you.

Consultations available in clinic in Surrey and via zoom.

Often we are not sure how to help the women in our life who are just brilliant and work so hard to do so much for everyone else.

Give the gift of some time for them to focus on just them and help them feel better.

Gift vouchers for acupuncture sessions are available to purchase on-line (link in bio).

A branded gift voucher will then be sent straight away via email to you or, if you prefer, direct to the recipient. You will have the option to write a personalised message before it is sent. Popular for those who need last minute gifts to help people feel better.

I have been lucky enough to have quite a few new followers recently so thought I would tell you a little bit about myself.

Fundamentally, I am passionate about helping women feel better. Women are absolutely magnificent creatures but also under extreme pressure these days - managing up, managing down, holding down jobs and being all things to all people.

Women are also amazing ‘copers’ but a little bit of my heart sinks when I hear of patients putting up with negatively life impacting symptoms for so very long such as fatigue, hot flushes, night sweats, flooding, pmt, bladder issues etc.

Often it is hormone related and we can chat through how to help these whether through acupuncture or herbs or both. Seeing my patients come out of our sessions with their sparkle and power back is what makes my heart sing loudly.

I have been practicing for over 12 years, initially with reflexology then extending my practice with acupuncture and herbs. Prior to that I was in a busy corporate job until my love affair with holistic therapies, hormones and how the female body works began. Also, prompted by our long fertility journey (10 years and 3 IVF attempts) to have our gorgeous daughter.

I feel so lucky to have the knowledge of acupuncture and herbs to provide women with natural alternatives to help them feel better.

Best thing about my job - seeing the difference I can make to my patient’s lives. Having a ringside seat to observe and be in awe of how amazing and resilient women are.

Worse thing about my job - I’m impatient ! I want to get people 100 % better straight away after one session and often it can take 2. Also, I am often conflicted with how to balance singing the praises of alternative support for hormone health and having a busy clinic.

Outside of clinic my happy places are walking the dog with a podcast on (typically “Parenting Hell” to make me laugh and “Feel Better Live More” to help me grow) or weight training with the beyond talented . My definition of utter bliss is drinking red wine whilst watching Strictly and Roast Chicken on a Sunday with my family.

Knowledgeable, experienced and result focused. Feel better sooner.

Did you know that women report over 150 individual Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) symptoms including bloating, weight gain, anxiety, headaches, breast tenderness, increase in appetite, irritability, depression and fatigue to name but a few. Their intensity can vary from month to month but it is generally accepted symptoms can get worse with age.

But what actually is PMS ?

From a Western perspective there are a huge number of theories including deficiency in B6, hypoglycaemia, progesterone deficiency, imbalance between oestrogen and progesterone but rather frustratingly no definitive answer is typically provided.

From a Chinese Medicine perspective we would look at all the symptoms you are experiencing and think about what pattern is being presented. For example Liver Qi stagnation may manifest more towards irritability, resentment, depression. Liver Fire manifesting in headaches, anger, fury and dizziness. Spleen disharmony manifesting as constipation and loose stools, oedema and sugar cravings etc etc.....

I approach PMS in clinic by firstly really understanding that every women is different. No two women will have the exactly the same hormone profile and therefore no two women will have exactly the same symptoms. (Some women actually have most of their PMS symptoms around ovulation rather than before their period).

Only by doing this am I able to provide a full pattern diagnosis and treatment plan whether helping with herbs or /and acupuncture.

If you are experiencing negative life impacting PMS symptoms, please do get in touch. Don’t put up with feeling terrible every month.

I feel so lucky that so many patients spend their precious time writing an annoymous review of their experience of working with me on Doctify (like a tripadvisor for the medical profession).

Although their words often make me blush, it makes my heart sing that I have helped so many women feel better and live happy, healthier lives over the years.

This is one of my favourites as it mentions my holistic approach as well as how focussed I am when it comes to tangible long lasting results for patients.

It also makes me smile as it mentions magic - often said in clinic when patients can’t believe how much better they feel after a short amount of time.

If you are unsure if acupuncture or herbs could help you with peri or menopause symptoms please do pop over to my website (link in bio) and read all the reviews.

Do get in touch as I would love to help you feel the best you, all of the time, not just some of the time.

When you come to your consultation we will really dive into your diet and the types of food you eat. Don't worry, I am realistic and won't suggest you cut out caffeine, sugar and alcohol all together, but I will educate you on how each of these impact your hormones and discuss the energetic qualities of some healthier alternatives.

Acupuncture can help you be happy again. Researchers have found that acupuncture can alter neurotransmitters in the brain and in turn alleviate conditions such as anxiety and nervousness therefore increasing your overall mood.

Track, Track, Track. I really strongly encourage my patients to do this! The more notes you've written down (or typed up) about your cycle and your symptoms around mood, sleep patterns and digestion the easier it is for us to establish patterns emerging which can be attributed to specific hormones.

Did you know a good foot soak can help you get a better night sleep? Soaking your feet in warm water with Epsom salts up to the three yin intersection (just above the inner ankle) relaxes your achilles tendon which makes you automatically relax your neck and cervical spine - resulting in you going to bed relaxed and ready for a better night sleep.
