Hello Lovely souls,
As you may know, I’m revamping my kitchen at the moment and I’m right at the point where we’re about to pull all the old units out… which feels equal parts exciting and “what have I done?” (If anyone needs me, I’ll be eating cereal from a mug for the foreseeable.)
And the process has reminded me of something I keep seeing in life too: DIY vs professional support.
Some bits are absolutely DIY-able. I can choose colours, move things around, do a bit of sanding, get overconfident with a tape measure… and slowly, very slowly, learn what I’m doing.
And then there are the parts where you think, “Nope. I want this done properly.”
Because the *back end* matters. The bits you don’t see are what make everything work smoothly.
That’s exactly why Howdens will be doing my kitchen my lovely website was set up by professionals. All the tricky gadgets, widgets, and behind-the-scenes magic that make my online customers’ and members’ journeys smooth and rewarding were handled by Enviary.com and the super helpful Arron Syed. Proper tech wizardry.
But now I’m in there tinkering away, adding new products to the shop, building new courses and services, clicking buttons like I totally know what I’m doing… occasionally breaking something… asking Aaron to fix it… learning… and (to my surprise) actually loving it.
And it’s made me think: personal development is a bit like that too.
Sometimes you can DIY it ~ journaling, reading, trying new habits, having a quiet word with yourself in the kitchen at 11pm. But sometimes, the “back end” is just too much to hold alone. That’s when a bit of professional support (a course, a guide, a steady structure) makes the journey smoother, kinder, and a lot less overwhelming.
The key is, whether it’s a kitchen, a website or your own personal development and spiritual growth, it shouldn’t cost the earth.
Not financially. Not emotionally. Not energetically.
That’s why I keep what I offer fair, flexible, and grounded in real life ~ so you can get support when you need it, without pressure, panic or overcommitting.
If you’re in a season of pulling out the old and making space for the new (in life, not just kitchens) I see you. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re learning your way forward ~ one choice, one chapter at a time.
Below, a vision of my new kitchen.
Tell me ~ are you a DIY person, a “hire the expert” person, or a bit of both?
