🌈 WHY IS PRIDE CELEBRATED IN JUNE?
On June 28, 1969, police raided a gay bar in New York City known as the Stonewall Inn. The event sparked a series of riots by people in the LGBTQ community, constituting the major event leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQ rights in the US.

The month of June was chosen to honor and commemorate those Stonewall riots.

WHAT IS LGBTQ PRIDE MONTH?
This month seeks to raise awareness in society from a positive stance on the rights of the LGBTQ community, as well as to promote safe spaces where inclusion prevails and violence and discrimination against le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and q***r (LGBTQ) people are eradicated.

The month is dedicated to promoting equal rights, as well as increasing LGBTQ visibility as a social group while celebrating sexual diversity and gender variance.

Over the bank holiday weekend, Savoy EMS was out and about providing first aid and medical cover.
We were pleased to work with the charity Open Road at the Colchester Coronation in the park on Saturday.
Our paramedic led medical team provided welfare and lost children’s services throughout the day.
Although the rain came in, spirits were not dampened and being a garrison city, it was great to have the gun salute!

Savoy Event Medical Services have been successfully chosen to once again provide ambulance support services to Colchester United Football Club. Working alongside colleagues from Remote Medic UK Ltd, our ambulance crews will work alongside Doctor’s, Paramedic’s, Nurses and First aid staff providing first class medical care to those that attend matches.

Last night was the start of the season, with Colchester United vs Brentford. :)

It is great to see so many fans out supporting their teams.
