The position of your head affects the blood flow to the brain.
Severe compression may deprive the brain of oxygen and cause disturbed sleeping patterns, anxiety, and mental sluggishness as well as a host of nervous system issues.
So staring at your phone all day isn’t just bad for your eyesight.
To share the writings of Wang Tsung Yueh (1736-1795) from the Tai Chi classics ‘The Treatise on Tai Chi Chuan’
“With the ability to raise the spirit, there will be no presence of sluggishness.” Also referred to as ‘Tou Ding Xuan’ or to suspend one’s head.
A 2019 study confirmed the benefits of this Tai Chi principle by measuring the pulses of the carotid arteries and found they were stronger when the head is over the spine! But weaker when it’s forward.

Here is the Dieta (From the Latin diaeta meaning ‘Way of life’) I have officially completed today which for me, started over two months ago and is an essential part of the healing process. All of this is just healthy living and good self care.
It’s often the case that sacrifice and effort needs to be made to allow healing, change and growth. Are you ready?
Start small, I’ve done quite a few shorter and less strict Dieta’s so why not have a go at swapping out just one habit for 5 days and listen to how you feel. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experience so let me know if you’re having a go.😊

A Peru retreat of healing and growth .HummingbirdHealingCenter.org literally brought tears to my eyes as we arrived on their land, as Stacy had warned us happens to her every single time. Their Curandero - from the Spanish word Curar meaning ‘to heal’, is Manain who has over 45yrs of experience healing people.
The Icaros healing songs which were sang during many of our ceremonies had been past down for generations and helped us to really feel the energy shifts.
Many plants are considered sacred and used as medicine due to their healing properties.
Ayahuasca and Huachuma are known as the mother and father, as well as master teacher plants and it was a true pleasure to be invited by Shamanic practice with Stacy Keast to work with them and others alongside some gifted healers I will forever call my friends.
We travelled from all over the world to be a part of this magical experience, diving deep into the healing traditions of the Shipibo Tribe.
So my heart filled thanks goes out to Jim and Manain for sharing your wealth of knowledge and to Gina for your kind energy and wonderful food and Stacy Keast for bringing us all together then being on hand throughout our beautiful journey.

Grasping The Birds Tail, front and side view. This sequence of movements in Yang style Tai Chi, encompasses ten of the 13 postures talked about in the classics. Master Cai Song Fang adapted this short section to contain all of the energetic directions of force that much longer forms are used to train and reportedly only ever practiced this section for many years of his life, enabling him to truly master the art in about one metre square of space.

Tai Chi and Qigong at the Grimsby Institute Sports Centre January 7th at 7pm-8pm.
It will be exactly 10yrs on the 7th when I attended my first Tai Chi class. January is a great time to embrace something new and take hold of your health.
I began my Qigong journey some 30yrs ago and have learned sets taught by multiple world renowned lineage holder’s. Why not pop down and see what all the fuss is about 🙏
