Apologies to all of those who have been keeping an eye on my progress, and I have gone completely silent.

A month ago, I finally took advice to get a proper dietician involved.

City Dieticians have been eye opening and for the first time after years of thinking I was Gluten intolerant or have IBS or pretty much just not knowing is wrong, Sophie turned around said 'you have 'MCAS' one of the gut syndromes closely linked to Hypermobility and EDS.

I already knew that the main gut issue of EDS is lactose intolerance, but MCAS is a histamine intolerance. Apparently they are in everything, the main things being:

- Citrus fruits - oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit, as well as bananas and strawberries
- Fish
- Processed meats and pork
- Tree Nuts and Peanuts
- Caffeine
- Beer, Wine, Cider and Champagne
- Yeast, Sourdough, Marmite
- Vinegar

I already knew most of these things made me feel ill, but now I know why and I am on the road to fixing it, with Sophies help.

- 1 antihistamine(fexofenadine), 2 probiotics, 2 kiwifruit, blackcurrant cordial to replace the orange I was drinking, and a low histamine diet.

Hopefully this stops the bloating, flushing, rashes, stomach cramps, etc. I'm glad to know it's not early menopause or losing my mind 😁

I have been a bit rubbish at posting lately, so here is tonight's hearty meal.

Devilled Sausages:

• 2 broccoli
• 3 large potatoes
• 2 apples
• 2 cans of tomatoes
• 8 cumberland sausages
• 2 onions
• 8 asparagus
• Brown sugar
• Worcestershire sauce
• Tomato purée
• Soya sauce

Very very tasty, light on calories, good protein, etc

Let me know if you would like the recipe 🍲

It doesn't always work first time, and it's doesn't always have to look pretty. First and foremost, it's about getting the technique right so you:

• 1. Don't hurt yourself
• 2. Build the right tension to be able to lift heavy weights in the future
• 3. Start to build muscle to make you stronger (for me, it's the muscle around my uber flexible joints, to create a more stable body)

Successful 77.5kg with straps after a failed attempt without, followed by 3 sets of 2 at 50kg for technique.

I also came home to hearty chilli nachoes my husband made 😋 Very tasty!!

STRONG AND FIT!

That's how I'm starting to feel. Despite all the rubbish symptoms I have every day from EDS, Fibro and POTS.

Today I did another couple of PBs:

- 75kg Deadlift (see video)
- 32.5kg Bench Press

The stronger I get, the easier the weights are to lift (obviously) and the easier everything else is to deal with.

I finally made it out of my house (silly agoraphobia!!) and to a Ceroc night finally after so many months.

It has been so long since I have danced, and I did not realise how much I had missed it. Between the fatigue, the brain fog, and the chronic pain, dancing had/has become quite difficult indeed. But the main issue is the racing heart, verging on tachycardic episodes, if I overdo it, like I did August 2022.

For example, tonight I got a little carried away, enjoyed myself a little too much. My heart rate raced up to 170 bpm after just 2 dances in a row, with a resting heart of 68 bpm, that's rather high. I had to quickly escape outside to catch my breath.

Otherwise great to be back dancing!

My Moonwalk pack has arrived ready for my half marathon (13 miles / 21km) walk around London on 18th of May. Time to start training!

Nice short walk to start to start, followed by a protein shake to strengthen the muscles.

My hypermobility means I have very flexible joints. Essentially my muscles around my joints are working really hard to keep my body from falling apart.

Symptoms of hypermobility include joint pain and stiffness, and regularly spraining or dislocating of joints. Treatment involves exercises to help protect the joints and painkillers if they're needed.

All the weight lifting, strength and resistance work I am doing with Tim is making the muscles around my joints stronger. Now for the post work out massage and rehab.

Tim () is also my Nutritionist and has helped me get my eating on track and wants my protien to sit around 100gm per day to further build the muscles around the joints.

Taking a holistic approach to health encourages the best results: weights, stretching, rehab, massage, cardio, nutrition etc.

Trying to make healthier lunches. Normally I have leftovers or I keep ingredients in our staff fridge to make (reasonably) healthy sandwiches.

• 2 slices of bread (thin slice)
• 2 slices of German Salami
• 1/2 medium tomato
• 1/4 avocado
• 30gm iceberg lettuce leaves
• 10gm Lurpak lightly salted butter

+ a maderine for a snack (or satsuma as they call them here in England)

So the one major thing I have been struggling the most with this year is sleep. "Non-Restorative Sleep" as it is so aptly called. Turns out this is a major symptom of Fibromyagia.

Chronic Fatigue, Sleep Disturbance, and Non-Restorative Sleep. All of which lead to reduced cognitive functions, memory impairment, depression etc etc

The Rheumatologist consultant has prescribed sleep medication in a few months, but has asked in the meantime for me to try ibuprofen and paracetamol every night before bed before moving on to more extreme measures.
.... let's give this a try. It can't hurt I guess!
