Today was our first session of our don't forget me cafe in the home. We offered cakes, fresh tea and coffee to all our visitors. Our residents enjoyed quizzes and spot the difference with our new activities member Raphael Spraggons.

Later in the afternoon we enjoyed some crafts making mood boards. Cutting out pictures from magazines which they liked both joy and jean made some lovely pictures. Joys was more food orientated and jeans were more flowers.

Getting in the Easter mood today as hospitality manager Michelle Szmyrgala Bailey let residents join in with decorating our Easter cake. Using cake tools they had not used before Peter, Joy, Pam, janet and John all had a go. Later on we had a giggle with some karaoke and also some quizzes too.

Bingo...... A favourite in our home. Today Trev Clarke used the old sayings as we laughed and joked about what they meant. In our recent residents meeting which we hold every month it was mentioned about playing more than one game

So today we done this. Well done to joy on winning the line. Then Janet won the full house. In the second game David won the line and Yo won the full house.

This morning we had the pleasure of having Skyla the therapy dog come and visit with her owner Coll Cox . Lots of hugs and chatting to be had as she made her way around the Hadleigh Nursing Home.

Skyla comes to visit us every month and if your coming to our easter fete on 3rd April you can meet her too

Joy gives everything a go and is so enthusiastic & positive.

Meet resident Jessie, Jessie she loves to get involved with lots of activities including puzzles, arts and crafts. Today's activity was yoga she really enjoyed getting involved with the stretches movements and laughter too. Jessie really looks forward to her weekly Scrabble game with activities Trev Clarke.

In honour of World Poetry Day,
residents got together to discuss, share & read their favourite poems 💜
Joy shared some of her original work which was amazing.

Jean recited a poem by her fellow countryman, Dylan Thomas, Jean’s lovely Welsh accent sounding beautiful! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We had some funny poems by Pam Ayers & Spike Milligan & some classics from Brontë, Auden & Wordsworth 📖🤗

The group even got the Care & Housekeeping Staff involved & had a fantastic time finding their voices through poetry!

What's the weather today? Each time we try and arrange a garden day the weather is against us. Today we went out in our amazing front garden of the home to look at what's growing.

It was too cold for a few residents but we carried on looking around and sat under our pagoda. The gardener Steven was hard at work (probably listening to rock lobster his favourite song in his headphones)

We had a game of noughts and crosses as well as smelling and looking at the flowers too.

Trev came back with ice creams for everyone playing the nostalgic music of the ice-cream van. We all enjoyed our ice-cream then popped back in the warm for a cuppa. What a lovely afternoon adventure.

🪩 PomPom upper body workout
🧘‍♀️ Happy place warm down.

Residents had fun with a chair-based workout today 💪🏻
Great coordination, strength, teamwork & loads of laughs ❤️

Some of our residents chose to go out in to the garden.
Nurse Suman helped them smell the beautiful citrus shrubs 🍋
Then some Poetry writing and sketching supported by Elaine, all out in the lovely sunshine!

Games Galore after lunch today!

Groups of residents got together to try Play your cards right, Snakes & Ladders, Connect 4, Solitaire, Chess & Snap 💓

Snakes & Ladders got a bit rowdy, but there was no cheating! 😄

Joy and Janet had a lovely trip out with activities Trev Clarke to another Kingsley Healthcare Group home Allonsfield. We had a very warm welcome and had a look around the farm. We saw some young lambs, chickens, ducks, pigs and even a giant goat called oak who acts like a dog.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch and a few games before we headed back to Hadleigh Nursing Home.

Thank you to Allonsfield and poppy and the farm team for such a lovely time.
