You've heard of 5 aside football, but have you heard of 5 aside snakes and ladders. Yes we had lots wanting to join Trev Clarke snakes 🐍 and ladders 🪜 game today so we made 10 into two teams and took turns. So the red team won 3 games and blue only won one game. We had lots of climbing of the 🪜 but also lots of skips down the 🐍 too.

Great fun had by all (apart from Trev as he kept getting hit by the dice)

A lovely afternoon making pizzas 🍕 From mixing the dough, greating the cheese 🧀 to putting on the toppings on top it was lovely getting creative.

The smell went through the whole of the home as we enjoyed the lovely pizzas.

📚📘 Resident’s Book Group this morning 📕 📚

Great discussions about who’s reading what, from Agatha Christie to Lucinda Riley!

This led to some amazing reminiscence about First jobs, First cars, hobbies and local history 😊

Some quiet 1-2-1 book chats too.

After lunch, some chose to relax with a crossword or a paper, others went out to enjoy the golden Autumn sunshine…smelling the fresh herbs…lovely!

Everyone loves a game of Scrabble. You can only get 4 players but as so many want to play now we have started to pair residents up. Some funny words always come up but we do try and fill all the board and empty the bag of letters.

We also had our gameshow where we have to guess the price of the item. We then guess if the next item is a higher or lower price than the last.

The residents couldn't believe the prices of some of the items are now compared to say 10 years ago..

A very good morning from St Mary's church Hadleigh. Activities Trev Clarke has come along to the monthly church market on the first Friday of the month to give back to the community.

We have a free prize draw to win a very cuddly teddy 🧸 as well as some freebies too like chocolate, biscuits, pads and pens.

We have information about our lovely home and about our summer fete which is happening next weekend at the home.

Pop along and say hello 👋 look at the local stalls and grab a cuppa (and even a cheeky bacon roll with donation to the church)

A morning of pampering this morning as activities Jayne Whitehead gave manicures to our residents. Trev Clarke was offering amistie hand massages with some lovely lavender oil.

In the afternoon it was time for some crafts making creepy crawlies from leaves. We also had some singing too, nothing like some music to relax and also for some reminiscing too.

Today we had one of our residents sons in for a chat. Pam's son Malcolm is a traditional roof thacther. He has been doing it for over 45 years and brought many tools and equipment he used.

Malcolm then showed us some pictures of the work he has done. We were all very impressed and asked lots of questions. We were impressed to learn the roofs can last for 50 years. Also it sometimes takes 6 months and a year to thatch as he works on his own.

What a lot of information we learnt, thank you Malcolm our residents really enjoyed it.
