Good morning and happy Monday all!

Who needs a coffee this morning after their weekend? ☕️ I certainly do! Juggling motherhood to a crazy but cute boy just makes you crave that coffee in the morning!

There’s a lot of misconceptions circulating the media regarding coffee / caffeine and whether it is healthy for you. Whilst there are many benefits to drinking BLACK coffee, if you are one of those people who like milk & sugar in every cup then this may not be the healthiest option for you. HOWEVER, depending on your PERSONAL fitness/health goals there are always things we can look at to ensure you still have your coffee fix as well as hitting your goals!

Sweet vs Savoury Breakfasts (swipe)

It is always best to start your day with a savoury breakfast (sorry sweet tooth lovers) but after 10-12 hours since your last meal, your digestive system will be really empty so anything you eat will go straight into your bloodstream.

Therefore, if you start your day with something sweet, your glucose levels will sky rocket and then crash a couple of hours later. Whereas if you’re eating foods rich in protein and healthy fats, this will keep your glucose levels steady and you will keep benefiting from all the nutrients for a long time after you have eaten 💪🏽🙌🏼

If you currently have sweet breakfasts, try switching to something savoury and see how your energy levels differ!

This is always such a hot topic of conversation and can be so confusing to know what the best choice is. My advice.. it’s ALL ABOUT BALANCE.

Watch your portion sizes! This is the biggest and most common mistake people make when trying to make healthier choices. Don’t feel like you need to restrict any foods or cut them out, you can fit any foods into your daily/weekly meal planning.

T’is the season for soup!

My absolute go to lunch in this weather 🥶 full of green goodness, healthy vitamins and minerals and sooo easy to make! 🙌🏼

1 head broccoli
1 courgette
1 leek
100g peas
100g spinach
500ml veg stock (add more if too think
1 red onion

Roughly chop all ingredients and add to large sauce pan • Lightly oil the veg and cook until it all starts to soften • Add the veg stock and simmer for 20-30 mins • Take off heat and blitz using food blender • Season to taste (I use salt and pepper and a little garlic powder) • Top with your favourite seeds!

I’ve just got back from a week in Barcelona 🇪🇸 and although the food was just 😍 I’m ready to get back into fully nutritious meals!

Tonight’s dinner is full of nutritious goodness and contains each of our macronutrients and very important vitamins and minerals 💪🏽

Baked salmon marinated in sweet chilli sauce on a bed of roasted courgettes and sprinkled with sesame seeds 💚 served with a side of new potatoes!

My easy weeknight homemade chicken fajita bowl..

Did you overindulge over the bank holiday weekend?

Time to get back on track with a healthy and nutritious but DELICIOUS breakfast! (Or brunch if you struggled to wake up this morning!)

A perfectly poached egg on a slice of sourdough toast with smashed avo 🥑chopped tomatoes 🍅red onion and a sprinkle of feta 😍💚 served with a side of roasted mushrooms.

Full of protein, healthy fats and complex carbs, you cannot go wrong with this meal 🙌🏼💪🏽
