If your teenager is collecting their results tomorrow, here is some advice on how they can look after their mental health...
1/ Stick to your routine
Sticking to your everyday routine will help you feel more settled and balanced.
2/ Let yourself feel
You don't have to be modest or put on a brave face. However you're feeling is valid. If you're disappointed with your results, give yourself time to process and talk to someone you trust.
3/ Don't panic
You don't have to make a decision about your next steps straight away. Give yourself time.
4/ Don't compare
Someone eles's success is not your failure. No matter what results you received, be proud of who you are and the effort you put it.
5/ Celebrate
You've been through so much. Take the time to celebrate. You've got through a huge chapter of your life. And that chapter has shaped who you are today. That's worth celebratingting.
6/ You’re more than your results
Who you are as a person, how you learn etc isn’t what actually goes down on a piece of paper. These results don’t reflect fully who you are as a person, a being. They reflect the answers given to a question only. These grades are not a true reflection of who you are, what or who you will become later in life. They tell nobody about the kind of character you are or your life story and experiences. You’re more than a list of subjects and grades. You are you…… CELEBRATE you
