World Letter Writing Day ✉️
Make someone’s postbox—and your eyes—happy
When was the last time an envelope stopped you in your tracks? The weight of the paper, the little loop in the handwriting, that moment before you break the seal… A letter slows life down. It says, “You mattered enough for me to sit, think, and choose my words.”
We’re big fans of that feeling. In a funny way, letters and eyewear do the same job: they frame your message. The right pen makes your words flow; the right frames let you be seen—calm, clear and unmistakably you.
If you’re putting pen to paper today, here are a few optician-approved tips to make it lovely on the eyes:
Light like a pro: sit by a window or use a lamp just behind your shoulder. Soft, even light = relaxed eyes.
High contrast wins: creamy paper + dark ink is easier to read (and looks deliciously classic).
Mind the distance: hold the page about 35–40cm away. If you’re creeping closer, it’s time for a reading check.
Choose the right lens for the job: tailored reading specs or well-designed varifocals stop the “letters dancing” effect.
Take blink breaks: every page or two, look across the room and blink slowly. Your eyes will thank you.
If the joy of letter writing has been replaced by squinting, headaches or “I’ll do it later,” that’s fixable. We’ll measure properly, match lenses to how you actually live (phone, laptop, books, night driving), and help you find frames that make you feel put-together without shouting.
Tiger (our unofficial mascot) insists paw prints count as a signature. We’re not entirely convinced—but we are convinced a thoughtful note makes someone’s week.
