💬 What’s an Adult Child of Trauma?

An Adult Child of Trauma (A.C.T.) is someone who didn’t get what they needed growing up — emotionally, spiritually, or physically — and is now navigating adulthood with survival patterns that no longer serve them. You may have grown up around emotional neglect, addiction, control, abandonment, racism, shame, or silence.

Even if your parents “did their best,” you might still carry the impact of unspoken wounds.

🧭 Who is the A.C.T. 16-Step Programme for?

You don’t need to be Muslim
You don’t need to have all the language.
You can be male or female.
You don’t even need to tell your whole story right away.

You just need to be ready to explore one question:
“What if the child I once was still needs my care today?”

💔 You might be a match for A.C.T. if:

You grew up being “too grown too soon” or felt invisible in your own home.

You still feel stuck in people-pleasing, fear, resentment, or inner chaos.

You’ve tried to “fix yourself” with willpower, religion, or avoidance — but something’s still aching inside.

You crave emotional sobriety, boundaries, and healing — with God in the picture.

🌿 And no, you don’t need:

A diagnosis

To be in recovery already

To be confident, consistent, or "healed"

Just a willingness to begin.

🕊 What the A.C.T. 16 Steps offer:

A trauma-informed, spiritually rooted path to emotional recovery

Inner child reparenting with Islamic insight

Connection with others who “get it”

A soft, guided alternative to harsh self-talk or isolation

A space where your story matters

Step One:
“We Begin — We are no longer alone. We choose softness instead of silence.”

Narcissists Abuse in Private and Perform in Public

Narcissistic abuse is often hidden in plain sight. Behind closed doors, they criticise you, gaslight you, ignore your needs, and slowly chip away at your self-worth. But in public? They’re the charming, helpful, “devoted” partner or friend—always playing the victim, always seeking sympathy. This calculated contrast is what makes speaking out so difficult.

When you finally gather the courage to say something, people look confused. “But they seem so nice!” “Are you sure?” The narcissist has already laid the groundwork—convincing others that you’re the difficult one, the ungrateful one, or even the abuser. It’s part of the trap: they discredit you before you ever find your voice.

This public image isn’t accidental. It’s a smokescreen. Narcissists thrive on control, and one of their favourite tools is isolation—making sure you look unstable or dramatic if you dare to expose them.

If you’re doubting your reality because no one believes you, know this: narcissistic abuse is designed to be invisible. But your experience is valid. You are not imagining it.

Carl Jung called it the Divine Child.
Islam calls it the fitrah — the part of you born pure, in full remembrance of Allah.
Before trauma, before coping…
There was a self that said “Balaa, shahidna” — “Yes, we bear witness.”
That self still lives in you. Long lasting
Recovery begins the moment you return to it.
