A chance to share your stories and help improve maternity and neonatal services in our local area 🩷

Hello 👋🏼 I just wanted to pop a little something up to introduce myself to everyone.

I’m Abi, some of you have probably seen my face at MNVP meetings and various other events for the past year or so, often with my little boy Freddie who generally steals the show and loves the attention 😂

I gave birth to Freddie in Calderdale Royal in June 2023, and I’ve had experiences with maternity and neonatal services in Calderdale as well as in Leeds Children’s Hospital.
I’m really passionate about service user experience and I think the work that Amy does with the MNVP is incredible.

And as such, I’ve volunteered a little bit of my time to help Amy out with the social media side of things in an attempt to really connect with past and present service users, and get your voices heard.

I’d love to get an idea of things that you guys would like to discuss going forward and any specific topics that you feel passionate about, the good as well as the bad!

Feel free to drop a comment below and over the next few weeks and months we can delve a little bit deeper and really get some important conversations going 🤍

⚡️ BIRTH POSITIONS! ⚡️

Here's why you should rethink the bed as being the focal point of your room... Here I am (with a cushion up my top!) showing you some positions to consider, which can help you feel more comfortable during labour and also help with the progression of labour.

Think U.F.O - upright, forward open!

K.I.C.O is also another good one to remember - 'knees in, calves out' can help create more space in the pelvis.

By moving around more, it'll help you find the positions that work best for you and baby. And if you experience any stalls in labour.. moving to find a different position that works better can be a GAME CHANGER to get things going again!
