🌟📣 Client Achievement 📣🌟
Months of training…
One very clear goal set…
And with Rome as her stage,
Our very own running superstar Megan achieved a HUUUUGE marathon PB of 4hrs 28mins, knocking a whole 31 minutes off her previous time & we just couldn’t be prouder of her 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
Here’s how her journey to Rome went 🏃♀️ (not the literal journey lol) :-
What was your motivation? - “I wanted to prove to myself I could. Completing a marathon is such a big thing, so in my head if I could do that, then there wasn’t much else I couldn’t do.”
How did training shape up? - “Having completed the Loch Ness Marathon last October, I knew the miles were already in my legs. This time it was about getting stronger, training consistently but sensibly, and chasing a faster time. It was sixteen weeks of intense training and I sacrificed a lot of my personal life in order to get the miles in, but the feeling of turning up on race day prepared meant I could just enjoy the event which is a great feeling.”
The big Q.. how was the race?! - “It was hard. The first 10 miles felt great but then the sun came out and the Scottish girl trying to run in 25 degrees heat was not a vibe. I struggled a lot between miles 10-20 but kept telling myself this is what all my training was for. When i got to mile 20, I realised I was still on track for my PB and my mindset change - I had so much fun doing the last bit and pushing my body to the max.”
Advice for anyone considering a marathon?? - “DO IT! For 16 weeks you are solely focusing on yourself and I think everyone needs to make themself a priority more, plus the endorphins you will get after completing your first marathon is like no other!”.
Megan - We LOVE to see you achieving all you put your mind to & cannot wait to see what’s in store for you next! 🖤⚡️
