I help ambitious male business owners become fitter, leaner and energised so they’re sharper at work, more switched on at home, and proud of the man they see in the mirror. I launched my personal training business in 2005 and within 3 years with no business knowledge, I was fully booked, delivering 40 – 50 60 min PT sessions a week. This meant when you added in the running of the business, I was regularly working 60 – 70 hour weeks. In those early days, I could manage that because I lived at home, mum and dad did everything for me, and I had no children! I was able to spin all the plates I needed to. Fast forward to when I was married, Caitlyn and I had a home to look after, and we’d just had our first born Thomas I had a lot of plates to spin, and something had to give. What gave was me, I stopped looking after myself. I didn’t exercise, I ate a lot of junk food, lots of coffee and whiskey and by the time Thomas was 1 I’d piled on 3.5 stone, couldn’t get to the top of the stairs without being breathless and generally struggled to give my best to those I loved most. I needed to sort myself out, this is when I decided that diet and exercise alone wasn’t the answer. I needed to learn how to create real change in my life that was long lasting over those traditional peaks and troughs of ‘I’m on it’ or ‘I have no motivation to do it’. Ready – Willing – Able

Most people I speak to are READY to start their journey to becoming fitter, healthier, and more energised.

Monday Morning Inspiration – How To Never Fail

If you’ve ever been stuck in the 2 - 4 week “health kick” cycle, you’ll know how it feels…

You start full of motivation.

It’s exhausting, and it makes it harder even to start, because you’ve convinced yourself you’ll just fail.

Back on Track.

Since the 1st of August, I’ve dropped 5.25kg (11 1/2 lbs)

But this isn’t just about weight.

This is about getting me back.

The truth is, I’ve let my health slide for the past 6 years.

🔸 2 years dealing with a health scare that rocked my confidence

🔸 2 years battling through COVID, trying to keep my business alive while silently struggling with depression

🔸 And the last 2 years… navigating the pain of a marriage breaking down

There’s been survival.

There’s been sacrifice.

And for a long time, I felt completely lost.

But over the last month, I’ve started showing up for me again.

No fads. No extremes. Just simple, consistent habits:

✅ Moving daily

✅ Drinking more water

✅ Fasting — which also helped me become more mindful about food

✅ Owning my mindset

I feel fitter, stronger, and more in control than I have in years.

And I’m not done yet.

This isn’t a “before and after.”

This is a man rebuilding, for himself, for his boys, and for the life he deserves.

Hero Dad mode – ON 🦸‍♂️

School summer holidays = juggling business, family and life on hard mode.

On Monday, I took my boys to THE MONSTER at Braintree Shopping Village — a massive inflatable assault course.

I’d planned to sit back with a coffee and watch… but the boys had other ideas.

They wanted me on it.

Now, plenty of parents were dragged on — and it was hard graft.

Most dads I saw managed one lap before collapsing.

Meanwhile, we went around 6 times in our hour slot.

One dad even said to me, “I don’t know how you’re still going, I’m shattered.”

The look on his face said it all — gutted that he was stuck on the sidelines while his kids carried on.

👉 THIS is why your health matters.

It’s not about six-pack abs.

It’s about having the energy and fitness to keep up with your kids, make memories, and be part of the fun — not just watch from the sidelines.

School summer holidays = juggling business, family and life on hard mode.

Change is challenging.

It pushes us out of our comfort zones.

It disrupts routines.

It demands effort before results.

But it’s also where growth happens.

It’s where tired dads become fitter, stronger, and more energised.

It’s where small, consistent actions reshape how you feel — at work, at home, and in yourself.

So yes, change is challenging.

But staying stuck?

That’s much harder in the long run.

Here are 3 things that will help you keep showing up, especially on the tough days:

1 – Get clear on your real why.

This isn’t about chasing a six-pack. It’s about being a great role model, the best leader you can be, energised, present, and proud of the man your kids look up to.

2 – Don’t try to change everything overnight.

Most people go too hard, too fast, and burn out. Pick one thing, do it imperfectly but consistently for a month. Stack the next one when you’re ready. Slow and sustainable always wins.

3 – Find your people.

You don’t have to do this alone. Surround yourself with people on the same mission, a mate, a coach, a group of men who get it.

Some days they’ll lift you up. Other days, it might be a boot up the arse. Either way they’ll have your back.

Keep going. You’ve got this.

2kg down in 2 weeks!

And yes, that’s me, the health and fitness coach.

This year’s been a real challenge. I’m not after sympathy, but the truth is, I let my own health slip and the weight crept on. After a few failed restarts, I decided 2 weeks ago to strip it back to basics.

The result? 2kg down.

So, what changed?

Not the strategies—I used the same ones I give my clients.

It was my focus.

You’ve probably heard these phrases:

The better it gets, the better it gets

What you focus on, you move towards

Where focus goes, energy flows

This isn’t just motivational fluff, it’s neuroscience.

The Reticular Activating System (RAS) acts like a filter in your brain, deciding what gets through. And the best part? You can retrain it.

Start small. Focus on the things you can do today:

I can drink more water

I can go for a short walk at lunch

I can choose a healthier option for one meal

Each small “I can” shifts your focus, and bit by bit, your RAS starts working for you.
