Our Story: I thought I wanted to be a?

That’s it, at 14 years old my career was sorted. I wanted to be a nurse, at 15 a teacher by the time I was 17 working as a volunteer overseas, at 18 working in the City - I had left school, got a job as the most junior of juniors in The Co-op Insurance. Working in a man’s world, for some reason they gave me the most feared salesman to balance their monthly books. These were guys that had the others in tears. I loved them. Once they realised I was what they classified as ‘OK’. I was in. Two years on I was found myself commuting to The City of London to start a job I hadn’t applied for.

This turned out to be the story of my life. I really have only been to 3 interviews and one of the owners said he wasn’t quite sure who was the interviewee, another said I was probably the worst interviewee but I still got the job, even though I said I didn’t want it. This was not a good track record and certainly not to be recommended to anyone who may be reading this.

So it was no surprise to my partner when I told him we had to learn how to do network marketing, one too many clients had asked us to help them promote their brands and I hadn’t a clue how.

Selling and brand management is what I do and have done for over 25yrs but once network marketing clients started to ask for help with managing their brands and how to promote the same product above the next person selling the same brand. I hit upon a snag. I knew nothing about network marketing. I could of course tell you that I did a huge amount of market research but no, I had worked with a lady who is great at marketing and business coaching and had grown her facebook group to over 60k inside 18months - she knows what she is doing - and said ‘Gill this is so much fun’
