We were delighted to have Mini Concerts at Lea Grange Care Home, Harpenden earlier in the week to entertain us with remembrance songs and music.❤️

Everyone sang along and enjoyed the event, and we continued to embrace Remembrance Day as our residents and their families gathered to listen to a speech by our CSM, Sarah, about the history of remembrance and its significance.

This World Diabetes Day, Diabetes UK are challenging the stigma surrounding diabetes and encouraging people to reflect on how they talk about the condition.

Diabetes UK found that, across the UK, over 8 in 10 people with type 1 and over 7 in 10 people with type 2 diabetes say they experience blame and judgement for their condition. It is important that we are all conscious of how the things we say impact others, because our words matter. Together, we can and help improve the lives of those living with diabetes.

On Tuesday, our wonderful activities team took our lovely residents from Lea Grange Care Home, Harpenden to a special All-Saints Church service on Sunday for a truly memorable day.

Reverend James Brown, a dear friend of our home, kindly paused the service so our residents could lay a beautiful wreath.

We were especially proud to have Sheila and Margaret, cherished residents at Lea Grange, with us. Sheila and Margaret served in the RAF, and Margaret's parents were also heroic war veterans. It was a heartfelt service that brought everyone together in remembrance.❤️

To mark Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, our residents have taken part in memorial services across the country to honour those who served and continue to serve our country. For many of our residents, these dates hold personal significance and provide the opportunity to not only honour their own past, loved ones and friends, but also share memories of such an important part of their lives.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

There has been plenty to do here at Lea Grange Care Home, Harpenden recently!

Some of our residents had fun flexing their vocal cords and taking part in a bit of group singing! Singing is a huge part of life at Lea Grange, and we have some talented vocalists in our midst 🎶

Our marvellous activities and wellbeing coordinators also hosted their weekly cooking cub, where our residents enjoyed combining the culinary and visual arts by decorating the sugar cookies they had baked! Some wonderful designs were produced, and our visitors were in awe as they were presented in our bistro 🍪
