Counselling is a journey, not a sprint.

Seeking support isn’t about having all the answers straight away. It is about taking that first step and allowing yourself the space to explore, understand, and grow.

Counselling is a bit like a long countryside walk. Some parts are smooth, others are rockier or a bit uphill. There might be moments where you stop, reflect, or even retrace your steps, but every part of the journey matters.

Progress isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply learning to sit with your thoughts a little more gently.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to start.

After a restorative summer break, I’m pleased to share that I am now back and available for sessions.

Taking time to pause and recharge has reinforced the importance of reflection and self-care - principles that are at the heart of the work I do with clients.

I look forward to supporting both returning and new clients as we head into the Autumn.

Starting counselling?

Let’s work together, in a way that works for you.

At the heart of my approach is the simple belief that there is no one right way to heal.

Together, we will explore what works best for you - whether that’s talking things through, setting goals, learning new strategies, or just having space to reflect.

This is a collaborative process. You bring your experiences, strengths and preferences. I bring professional support, expertise, and a commitment to working with you.

Your voice matters here. Your choices shape the journey.

Get in touch to arrange an initial telephone call to see how we might work together. DM me or visit my website (link in bio).

As a qualified counsellor and parent carer myself, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the support I offer.

Because I live them too, I understand the unique emotional and practical challenges that come with caring for a child or young person with additional needs. Whether it’s navigating complex systems, managing exhaustion, or coping with the emotional weight of the role, you don’t have to do it alone.

In our sessions, you will find a compassionate and confidential space that is tailored to the realities of your life.

If you are seeking support from someone who genuinely understands, please feel free to get in touch. Visit my website (link in bio), or send me a DM.

Hi, I’m Rachel - a qualified counsellor trained in the Pluralistic Approach.

But what does that actually mean?

The Pluralistic Approach acknowledges that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ path to growth or healing. Instead, it recognises that different people need different things at different times.

Consequently, Pluralistic Counselling is not about choosing one way forward, it is about staying open to many possibilities which includes the past, present and the future.

I honour the past with my clients by acknowledging lived experiences, cultural histories and personal narratives.

I stay in the present by meeting my client where they are at, with empathy, curiosity and openness.

And we look to the future together by co-creating goals which leads to personal growth and meaningful change.

If that sounds good to you, get in touch to find out how we might work together. DM me or visit my website (link in bio).

Becoming a parent doesn’t come with a manual. It’s messy, beautiful, exhausting, and deeply meaningful - often all at once. You might question yourself. Feel guilty. Worry you’re not doing “enough.”

You don’t have to do it alone. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just need a space to process the many layers of parenting, counselling can help.

DM me to book a free consultation to talk about how I can support your parenting journey.

It’s Carers Week in the UK (10–16 June 2025) – a time to recognise the incredible dedication of unpaid carers who support loved ones every day, often while juggling their own mental health.

If you’re a carer, you may feel isolated, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained - and you don’t have to carry that alone. As a qualified counsellor, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can process your thoughts, reconnect with yourself, and build resilience.

Whether you need someone to talk to, tools to manage stress, or just time for you, I’m here to help.

Grief isn’t just about losing a person.

We grieve when relationships end, when a job is lost, when our health changes, or when life doesn’t turn out the way we hoped.

Grief can come with moving to a new place, growing apart from friends, or letting go of parts of our identity.

If you’re feeling a deep ache for something you can’t name, it might be grief.

Grief can feel endless - like a storm that never breaks.

But even after the heaviest clouds, the sky remembers how to be blue.

In counselling, we don’t rush the pain.
We sit with it. Honour it. And slowly, gently, help you find space to breathe again.

You don’t have to carry it alone. If you’re navigating loss, I’m here to walk beside you.

🌿 Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and to-do lists. It’s also chasing the things that make you feel small in the best way.

The most beautiful sunset.
The rush of standing under a vast starry sky.
The hush of an ancient forest.
The moment music gives you goosebumps.
Art that makes you pause and feel.
A conversation that shifts your perspective.

That's awe✨ and it is just as healing and just as vital as rest.

Let your self-care include wonder. Let it include the things that wake you up inside. Because awe and wonder ground us. We are reminded that life is bigger than us.

Did you know that I offer bespoke support for Carers?

Caring for someone else may lead you to experience difficult feelings such as stress, worry, guilt, frustration, anxiety, and anger. Being a Carer can also leave you socially isolated and with reduced opportunities to support your own well-being.

My daughter has a developmental disability, and I deeply understand the complexity and challenges of navigating life as a Parent Carer.

As well as my personal experience in this field, I have also volunteered my professional skills at Carers UK as part of the Listening Support Service. I support my clients who are Carers by giving them a non-judgemental space to voice and reflect on their experiences.

Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
