To the youth clubs and groups; please get in touch to book activities before we open up the calendar to other parties. Scaladale is fully operational and we only have a few gaps in the calendar during June, July and August.

Learn new skills, make new friends and achieve nationally recognised and in house certification. Join this redeveloped and exciting programme.

The Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs Association are delighted to let you all know that the Scaladale Outdoor Centre is fully operational.
We are taking bookings for the 2025 season:
-Youth Groups
-School Groups
-Tourism
-Hostel
-Expedition
-Community events
The Scaladale team have been working hard over the last six months. There have been updates to the facilities and processes.
The Young Leader Programme will be launched once again next March.
Thank you to all the Western Isles public and all the visitors to these islands. We consider the Scaladale Centre to be an important community asset and an important hub for Outdoor Education.
The Centre is ‘not for profit’ and all monies go towards the operations and providing programmes for the young people of the Western Isles.

🔵 This afternoon young local representatives from the Western Isles Youth Services Lewis Youth Council and the Young Islanders Network attended the NHS Western Isles Annual Review, which was chaired by Maree Todd MSP (Minister for Social care, Mental wellbeing and Sport).

🟠 The young people heard lots about the successes and challenges their local health board has faced during 2023-2024, giving them a better understanding of the scale and impact their board has in the community.

📣After the review and Q&A session, they were then given the opportunity to speak briefly with MSP Maree Todd and the Chair of the board, GIllian McCannon.

🔵 They spoke about the development of CAMHS services nationally and what Scottish Government are doing nationally to improve this. Also highlighted stigma in island communities around mental health and how this can be a challenge. They also highlighted some of the successes of being involved in youth voice platforms and having their views heard and seeing change happening, and how this is important for young people.

A shout out to any groups who want to come skating! We are now booking out the rink! Perfect for birthday parties or youth group activities🙂 Only £90 for up to 14 people and you can hire the centre for a movie night/party, for an added fee. Please book through email info@scaladale.co.uk
Also, minibus collection can be arranged for £60 plus mileage.
