Embrace change!

The one thing that is a constant in our lives is change. We live in a world of constant and at times disruptive change. The more we resist change, the more it will persist in our lives.

Accept that you cannot avoid the effect of change in your life. Also, accept that change is not to be feared by you.

Change can be beautiful, transition can be beautiful. Just like the seasons change to bring beauty, magic, and life.

We must change and adapt too.

The more you open up to the concept of change, the more resilient and courageous you will become.

Good morning!

Let's take a few seconds to discuss the unknown.

Many people come to me with underlying fears, worries, and stresses about things they have no idea about.

I have chosen this picture as a demonstration... People fear the sea because they believe it is endless, too deep to know what is going on, and too big to control.

Sometimes, this can be a metaphor for life and negative emotions.

Depending on where you are in your emotional journey, the feeling of the unknown can be rather uncomfortable. All emotions attached to it can be negative, it is time to ride that fear wave.

1. What are you frightened of?

2. Accept that failure is an option and ask yourself what failure means to you and what are the consequences?
Is it really a failure or is it learning?

3. When did this start and why?

Shift your money mindset...

It is possible to have that blue sky thinking.

No matter your location, your past, your ethnical background, your history or your origin.

It is up to you to change the way you think about money.

Here are a few tips:

1. Understand your beliefs.

2. Read books that can help you.

3. Believe money success is achievable for you.

4. Give money away to a good cause.

5. Dream about retirement and what it looks like for you.

After all of them, ask yourself why?

What do you want? 👀

I wanted to take this opportunity to ask you, what do you want out of retirement?

I am currently working with multiple corporate law/ financial firms and this question seems to cause a stir.

But why?

MONEY... LACK OF PLANNING & LACK OF UNDERSTANDING.

For me I dream of adventure and I know that dream will become a reality because I plan for it.

Today, I invite you to picture your life down the road in high definition and let that be your motivation as you plan for retirement today.

What action do you need to take today, that will get you closer to your retirement goal?

When I am coaching 1-2-1
I often hear... I used to be happy all the time and now I don't feel anything.

(Also known as flatlined)

Or sometimes people say, the only emotion I am feeling right now is stress and when I am "looking happy" it is me faking it.

Does this sound familiar?

It is common that you may have experienced this and the reason is.... It is incredibly hard to feel both stressed and happy or sad and excited all at the same time.

You may also be anxious, you could appear to feel all of the negative emotions wrapped up into one.

When and if this is happening to you, it is best to take it back to your core.

Look at your values, find out what is really important to you and understated if your life is aligned with your core values.

If you would like some help understanding what your values are then please do reach out to me via DM.

Let's talk about money 🤯

I have chosen this picture to discuss money and how it can cause stress, worry and anxiety.

I have been working within the corporate world now since 2016 and I have come across may individuals who are unhappy, full of stress, anxiety & many are depressed.

Can you guess what the trigger is...

MONEY.

If you are reading this post knowing your feelings towards money are negative, then I can help you.

Firstly, I invite you to find the answers to the following questions:

1. What is one thing my parents did with their money that I want to replicate?

2. What is the one thing my parents did with their money that I want to do differently?

3. When someone invites me to talk about money, how do I feel and why?

The only person that is worth comparing yourself to is the person you were yesterday!

I sometimes forget how far I have come within my life, how much I have learned and the experiences I have had.

Because you can get so wrapped up in comparing yourself to others, you seem to forget how amazing you are and how incredibly fruitful your life is and is still to be.

What does my body languge tell you about me in this picture?

Happy?
Relaxed?
Grateful?
Hungry? 😆

It is quite astonishing what your outer body can say about your inner peace!

This picture was taken shortly after, I had successfully delivered a corporate coaching session into the UK via zoom and it went amazingly well.

I was in fact, happy, relieved and hungry! Just as well I was going out for tea in FLORIDA!

But, if you had taken a picture 4 hours previously, it would have represented something completely different.

Worry
Nervous
Self-doubt
Anxious

It lead me to think, why do we allow ourselves to be so upset about something that has not even happened yet? We stress for nothing, we may hurt people in the process by acting out of stress or uptightness... But for what?

Next time you can see your body language and mood changing ask yourself why? Are you 100% sure that this is a bad situation?

If not just take the time to bring yourself back to a better state of mind.

Good morning!

I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about the imposter!

Do you have an imposter in your life? I know I did, imposter syndrome is so common and for many of us, we have no idea what we are currently living with it.

So what exactly am I talking about?

I am talking about the times you think you are "not good enough" "a fraud" "you will be found to be under-qualified" and the times where you are sat outside in a car thinking, why am I doing this....They are not going to listen to me!

But in fact, they do, and the work that is delivered helps so many people, so why do we beat ourselves up about it?

Well, it's simply because it's not you it's the imposter and you can get rid of it!

If this post relates to you, do reach out and I would love to help you overcome your imposter!

Climbing Kilimanjaro - The Week that Changed my Life!

I had been working successfully as an independent Clinical Hypnotherapist and Wellbeing Coach for a number of years on a 1-2-1 basis helping clients overcome their fears and decided it was time for me to take on my own personal challenge, my fear of heights, this experience turned out to be the catalyst that led me to establish the Lisa Duffield Centre.

As I landed in Tanzania, East Africa ready to take on the highest free-standing mountain in the world, I felt a surge of excitement as adrenaline rushed around my body, knowing that I would be challenging my mind and body, introducing my senses to new experiences and stimuli, not only on a physical level but also on a sensory level that would remain with me forever, the sights, sounds and feelings, never to be forgotten.

The journey would take me through humid tropical rainforest, boggy moorland and scree, volcanic rock, finishing in below freezing conditions at the summit at a height of 5,896m some 19,341 feet above sea level. With a determination that I am well known for, little did I realise I would be doing a motivational talk to the team approximately three quarters of the way up, that would result in all of us reaching the summit.

As we set out and left the wooden lodge, food supplies were in abundance, our clothes were clean and we were in great spirits and full of energy.
