Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions are back across Essex from spring to autumn 🥾

Know a young person ready for a new challenge?

They will build confidence, learn new skills and work as a team outdoors.

Open to young people aged 14 to 25 👥

You can get them to enrol at any point during the year.

Great news! Lighthouse Sports & Social Hub will remain open as usual. Come along and enjoy roller skating, bouncy castle, toys, table tennis, and our café throughout the week.

⭐ Weekday sessions: 8am–4:30pm
⭐ Saturday: 10am–5pm (Free ParkPlay 10–12, skating from 12pm)
⭐ Sunday: 10am–4pm

Hello everyone , I will be starting up our coffee mornings again 😍

📆starting from June 4th
🕣10-11am

Everyone is welcome not just families with SEND it’s for all families to come together for a cuppa tea and some biscuits 🍪 and chat about what is needed for our community and what we can do at the lighthouse to accommodate 🥰

This will be running EVERY first Thursday of the month and I have a group chat on WhatsApp for ideas and to expand on our conversation if you wanted to join 🙂

🛼 Dovercourt Roller Skating Rink – We Need Your Help

We’re taking the next step towards resurfacing the rink, but before we can move forward we need a professional condition survey of the existing surface (believed to date from the 1970s).

👉 Does anyone know or can recommend:
• A chartered building surveyor (RICS)
• A heritage/conservation surveyor
• Or anyone experienced in surveying older outdoor sports surfaces

We’re looking for a report that can:
• Assess the current condition
• Identify defects and repairs needed
• Prioritise works
• Highlight any risks if repairs aren’t carried out

This will help us make the right decisions — and is essential for any future funding applications.
