After a busy few months at the end of the year and a rush of online sale orders, January is always a bit quiet for me. I don’t trade at events until later in the month and online orders generally slow down as people wait for their first payday after Christmas, so I use this time to crack on with the work I don’t have time for during the busy season; the behind the scenes jobs that support everything else. For me, this is the month for admin and maintenance.

It’s not glamorous work and it’s definitely not instagrammable, but it’s the stuff that makes the rest of the year run smoothly, and future you will be very grateful you did it 🤍

And that, my friends, is a wrap. 2025 done!

Huge, massive, ginormous thanks to everyone that’s supported EARLEY+DAUGHTERS this year - It’s been a busy one, and I’ve loved every second 🤍

➕69 events over the past 12 months (30 of them since October 😳)
➕3003 candles sold, along with 79 match pots and 63 plants
➕2x business awards won, and another two finals reached
➕3x new stockists
➕and I didn’t say anything at the time but this summer saw EARLEY+DAUGHTERS become my full time job which was a terrifying leap but one I’m so glad I made! Being able to do what you love, and being able support yourself and your children whilst doing it, is an absolute privilege - I feel incredibly lucky 🥰

Seeing our candles in your homes and hearing your wonderful feedback brings me so much joy… I can’t wait to get back into the workshop in the new year! But first: two weeks off with my family, aaaalllll the Christmas food, and a road trip to my happy place 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Well. Where do I begin?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - to every single one of you that came to Kings Cross yesterday. It was my best day of trading EVER and I loved every minute of it!

I loved chatting to you all about mid century pottery, loved hearing about the memories our candle fragrances evoke, loved hearing you say “omg this is Christmas in a jar” and “this smells divine” and “look at the Hornsea, my granny used to have this! We have to get one!” Honestly, little comments like this mean so much to small businesses, and I was chuffed to bits to find out that some of you came to the market especially to find me! I didn’t stop all day and sold out of midwinter, dusk and embers, and Hornsea sugar bowls entirely 😳

Special thanks to the team - this was one of the most superbly organised events I’ve ever taken part in. The quality of makers was incredible and everyone was SO BLOODY LOVELY! Feeling super happy and grateful and festive right now (and also knackered haha)

This weekend I’ll be trading at in King’s Cross for the first time 🤍

I’ve wanted to take part in one of the Crafty Fox events for FOREVER, but parking in London stresses me out way more than it should for someone who lived in the city for 32 years (and learned to drive there) so I’ve always chickened out 😂 Turns out you just need a in your life to make you realise you’re being a do*****ag (and to book the correct unloading slot for you - thanks Kate, love you!!!)

King’s Cross is a lovely place to spend the day - you can go for a wander around Coal Drops Yard, a stroll along the canal, grab something nice to eat, admire the Christmas lights and then have a browse of a market full of excellent handmade things (including EARLEY+DAUGHTERS candles, obviously).

I’ll be there on Sunday only and, whether you’re coming especially or just happen to be nearby, I’d love to see you!

Just about recovered from the weekend; two manic days of festive trading - the second outdoors in torrential rain and high winds. Hurray for thermals and gazebo weights, that’ll all I can say 😂 and thanks SO much to everyone that braved the elements to come out and support us makers (both days!) You’re absolute legends 🤍

A very quick post about Christmas deliveries while I’m doing some late night admin! Cut off days/times for online orders are as follows:

📦 2:00PM on Monday 15th December for orders being shipped by Royal Mail
🛍️ Midnight on Saturday 20th December for local deliveries by hand on Monday 22nd. I will only have a limited number of delivery slots - once they’ve been nabbed I’ll be shutting up shop for the Christmas break!

My OOO will be on from 2:00PM on Monday 22nd December until 10:00AM on Monday 5th January. Any orders placed during this time will ship on 5th.

Now I’m off to restock and stamp bags ready for Haslemere Christmas market tomorrow. See you locals bright and early! If you want to make my day, mines a cortado ☕️🤍

Well guys and gals, there’s only one way to celebrate getting through a bonkers week, and that’s with a pint of the black stuff… Lunch of champions! That’s four more festive events ticked off the list - another seven to go before I can collapse in a heap 🥴

In the words of Mariah Carey… “It’s tiiiiiiiime!”

Time for the biggest event of the season - the Christmas fair 🤍

Taking place over two days this week (Wednesday and Thursday), you’ll find over 140 incredibly well curated local makers and vintage dealers peddling their wares so that you can find the perfect Christmas gifts for your loved ones - all under one roof!

You can late night shop on Wednesday (we are open til 9) and will be serving prosecco in the Riverside Cafe so you can really make an evening of it with all your pals! Entrance is £3 (under 18s are free) and you can pay on the door.

I know I keep banging on about shopping small but PLEASE don’t give the billionaires any more of your money this Christmas - spend it with the cool, independent brands that create amazing one off things and are just trying to make a living instead 🤍 Handmade gifts are so much more thoughtful than buying tat from Amazon!

I’m so excited to be joining my lovely stockist for a cosy, festive candle making evening on Wednesday 17th December, from 6–8pm.

We’ll sip mulled wine, enjoy homemade mince pies, and create our own natural soy wax candles using sustainable and eco-friendly materials, and extra food and drink will also be available to order on the evening so you can really make a night of it.

Candlemaking is incredibly fun and therapeutic, so this session will be the perfect chance to pause and do something for yourself during the Christmas chaos - or to celebrate finishing your shopping (if you’re more organised than me!!)
