Back home after another excellent day at , made all the more brilliant thanks to:

1. giant ice creams (bought from - so many gorgeous pieces… I wanted to buy all their stock!!)
2. giant sunflowers - currently in the farm PYO fields at £1.75 a stem! 🌻🌻🌻
3. selling out of ‘ostara’ - with two more (separate) customers commenting on how it smells like a hot, rich man 🤣
4. FIVE REPEAT CUSTOMERS 🥰🥰🥰 This is honestly the biggest compliment you could possibly pay a small business! Thank you thank you thank you x
5. coming home with a stash of Hornsea thanks to and my lovely customer Philippa!
6. Hornsea egg cups being our overall best sellers of the day. I love that you all love Hornsea as much as I do 🧡🤎
7. Lionel Richie on repeat 🤣
8. paying me a visit and plying me with cheesy garlic bread and Diet Coke - thank you!!

Things that brought me joy in June 🤍

1. Our joint June bestsellers. I’ve had both lit all month - forget-me-not in the garden, and golden hour in the house. I’m so happy that you love these fragrances as much as I do!
2. Beach treasure ✨
3. Looking for new potential vintage vessels. These are Denby ‘chevron’ sugar bowls, designed by Gill Pemberton in the late 50s/early 60s. They are matt glazed in khaki green with four rows of chevrons wrapped around them. I think they’re incredibly stylish and super modern for pottery that’s almost 70 years old, and am thinking of pouring a batch of candles into them if I can find enough. What do you think?
4. A rainbow of eggs courtesy of my hens, in the bowl I got from the car boot on my last weekend off. “A thing of beauty is a joy forever”.
5. A new, very old, photo for my collection (did you know I collect old photos of people with their pet cats? You do now 😇)
6. Road tripping to Wales for the summer solstice.
7. Summer evening strolls with mes bebes.
8. More beach hangs. There’s magic everywhere! Even in heart shaped wet patches!
9. My birthday!!!!
10. Ice cold rose in a heatwave. Nothing better.

This is the last post in our scent note series (for now! - I’ll be back to talk about our festive fragrances in the autumn).

Forget-me-not is another classic, lovingly known as our ‘spa day in a jar’ 🤍 It’s a fresh and aromatic blend of mandarin, rosemary, lavender and geranium, making it a wonderfully relaxing candle, ideal for moments of reflection and self care. It’s also one of our stronger blends, so a great choice for larger spaces or outside (its insect-repelling properties make it the perfect candle to burn in the garden during the summer months).

Next in our scent note series is ‘petrichor’ which is another of my personal favourites (definitely top 3!) 🌦️🌦️🌦️

A strong note of oakmoss, grounded by a woody base of warm amber; the refreshing fragrance of this bestselling candle smells just like the earth after rainfall, a scent known as petrichor.

The first SIX batches of this fragrance sold out instantly when it launched back in autumn 2023, and it still has a loyal following two years later 🤍

This is the perfect candle for meditation: not only does it instantly connect you with nature, it contains comforting and calming amber and lavender, and sandalwood which promotes focus and mental clarity.

This week I’ve had these two absolute baddies helping me out in the studio for work experience ✨

We’ve talked about the pros and cons of being self employed, the different hats you need to wear when you run your own business, and the importance of doing something you love. They’ve learned about our candle making and packing processes, why we use the materials we do and where they come from, they’ve helped with social media research and they’ve created content, including these amazing collages for each of our fragrances (scroll to see).

The best bit for me though, was having two incredibly bright and creative humans to sit round a table and brainstorm with… it can be a tough gig working alone all the time so this was a real treat! As a result we have some new fragrance ideas to work on, a giveaway incoming, and some excellent concepts for new market stall layouts and signage!

Thank you and .g94444 for all your hard work, I loved having you around and hope you enjoyed yourselves too! You’re both absolute stars and will go far ⭐️

Back to it today after a lovely couple of days celebrating my birthday 🤍 I had birthday cake for breakfast two days in a row which is always a winner!

All online orders from this week have been dropped off at the post office, and I’m taking this weekend off to visit family so my next events will be:

The next instalment of our scent notes series focuses on our ‘wild fig’ fragrance - and this post is also a 📢PSA📢 as this candle has had a secret makeover in recent months.

It has always had top notes of fig, fig leaves and summer berries, with heart notes of Lily of the valley and violet, and amber base notes - but we’ve now added vetiver to our blend to really make it stand out from the crowd. It’s the perfect summer candle - a tribute to sun drenched Mediterranean orchards - and lighting one takes you there instantly 🤍

100% (!!) of the people we tested this new blend on said they preferred it to the original - so here she is! Our first new batch is currently curing and available to pre-order, and will be ready to ship on Monday 30th June 💥

Fab first day trading with in Portchester today 🤍 Thanks so much for having me Helen and Dan!

The sun shone, the music played and it was a real treat getting to pitch up alongside , and (even if you do like pineapple on pizza!! 🤣)

Our Hornsea sugar bowl candles were our bestsellers today by a country mile - fabulous for me (and for those of you that nabbed one!) but it means stock levels have dwindled again 🙈 I’ll be pouring more next week and also have a batch of ‘create your owns’ launching at the end of the month.

Back in the saddle tomorrow - find me at Richmond, 11:00AM - 4:30PM - but now it’s time for bed 🥱😴
