I don’t tend to do mobile work but sometimes there is an exception.
Mitsubishi Fuso Canter brakes were in a desperate state.
Needing all new brake calipers on the front axle (2 per hub) it was looking like an uneconomical repair. Searching we found a company supplying refurbished units at half the cost with warranty!
Fitted back up with new Discs and Pads and some fresh Dot 4 brake fluid this truck was back to full safe health.

Don’t forget your timing belt is due change on mileage and/or age.

Jaguar XJ350 came in with a heavy oil leak. Customer stated the car was leaving a large oil patch on his driveway.
Suspect rear main crank seal.
After removing the gearbox and flex plate we found not only a wet crank seal but a oil gallery plug loose and leaking.
Sealing the gallery plug and using rear crank seal as an original seal is no longer in production.

Mercedes SLK in with SRS restraint system malfunction.
Traced to a open circuit on the passenger seat occupancy sensor.
Checking the wiring harness to the seat it clear to see a previous poor repair although this was not the culprit, rectifying the wiring repairs to a more acceptable standard we removed the seat from the vehicle stripped off the seat base and replaced the sensor pad inside with a genuine Mercedes part.

•Handbrake shoes cleaned and adjusted.
•Rear coil springs replaced.

Major service carried out for
•All filters changed
•injector treatment added
•Battery light illuminated due to a missing auxiliary belt and a seized tensioner pulley
•Engine management light problem fixed as the glow plugs were storing a open circuit fault. Due to the age of the vehicle the glow plug in cylinder No4 was sized so we removed the core of the glow plug and drilled it out of the cylinder head followed by re tapping the threads.
•Coolant leak found and fixed from a poorly fitted hose clamp on the egr cooler
•Anti roll bar drop links replaced
•New clutch kit fitted with slave and master cylinder replaced as the clutch master cylinder had flipped its seal bursting the slave cylinder and saturating the clutch in hydraulic fluid.

Customer noticed the oil in his car had gone very milky. Suspect head Gasket!
After doing various checks including smoke testing the oil cooler, we confirmed this was the case. We decided that the cost of repair was just not economical for the customer due to the age and condition of the vehicle. So we patched it up to get him by. Oil flush, new oil and filter alongside removing the route cause. A old thermostat stuck shut causing the head gasket to fail followed by some trusty liquid head gasket to seal the leak. @ Hatfield, Hertfordshire
