Vacancy Social Media Volunteer – Arts for Health and Wellbeing

You don’t need to be the loudest voice in the room to do this work well.

We’re looking for someone who understands how to communicate something quieter. Someone who knows that art isn’t just content, it’s connection. That a post can be an invitation, not a performance.

Arts for Health and Wellbeing CIC is growing. We’re building something steady across Flintshire, Wrexham and Deeside, working with people who need space to slow down, create, and feel more like themselves again.

We need someone to help us share that.

This is a volunteer role for someone with social media experience who understands how to hold a tone that feels human. Not polished or pushy, but real. You’d be helping us shape how we show up online, support visibility for workshops, and reflect the work as it actually feels on the ground.

In return, you’ll be part of the work itself. You’ll be welcome into creative sessions, experience the spaces we’re holding, and be part of a growing community. There’s room here to learn, to build confidence, and to develop your role as the CIC grows.

This would suit someone who:
– has experience managing or contributing to social media
– is interested in art, wellbeing, and community-based work
– understands the value of slower, more thoughtful communication
– wants to be part of something early, and help shape it as it develops

There’s no expectation to be perfect. Just a willingness to engage, respond, and help us communicate what matters.

If this feels like something you’ve been looking for, send a message and tell us a little about you.

There’s something about growing your own food that changes how you see things.

Not just the vegetables themselves, but the pace of it. The time it takes. The quiet satisfaction of tending something and watching it come back year after year.

At Jubilee Allotments in Hawarden, we grow organically — no chemicals, just working with the land as it is. It’s not about perfection. It’s about learning, sharing, and finding a way that works.

It’s also a community. People help each other, pass on advice, swap ideas. No one needs to know everything to begin.

I work full time, so my plot is designed to look after itself as much as possible, using permaculture principles. It gives back more than I expected — fresh food, yes, but also space, beauty, and a sense of something steady.

There are a few plots available at the moment, in different sizes.

If you’ve been thinking about growing your own food, or just want a space to spend time outdoors and do something simple and real, this might be worth a look.

Please contact Hawarden community council if your interested.

Free art sessions:
Young people today are rarely given space to slow down. Much of their world is fast, digital and constantly stimulating. What we offer is something very different — a space where they can use their hands, settle their nervous system and reconnect with themselves and others in a real way.
There is growing evidence that high levels of screen time and social media use are contributing to increased anxiety, low mood and reduced emotional resilience in young people. While not a direct cause, these factors are recognised as contributing to wider mental health challenges, including those associated with disengagement and risk. In this context, there is increasing importance placed on real-world, hands-on, relational experiences that support regulation, confidence and connection.
Join me this Wednesday Community Clubhouse & Gardens Mold from 12.30pm until 2.30pm.

There’s something different about sitting down with others and creating.

Not to get it right. Not to be good at it.
Just to have a little space where things can slow down.

These sessions aren’t traditional art classes. They’re part of a structured approach called the Community Through Creativity Model, designed to support wellbeing, confidence and connection through simple, shared creative experiences.

You’ll be gently guided through each session, with time to explore materials, try something new, and enjoy the process of making.

No experience is needed. Most people arrive unsure and leave feeling more settled, often surprised by what they’ve created.

The group is small and welcoming, and over time something else begins to happen — people start to recognise each other, conversations come more easily, and the space begins to feel familiar.

It becomes more than just a session.

If you’re looking for something that feels calm, creative and quietly supportive, you’re very welcome to join.
