Grounding techniques can help us when we’re feeling out of touch with our body and surroundings. They can help us reconnect to the present moment.

This might be because we’re experiencing difficult emotions, like fear, anxiety or anger. You can also use grounding techniques if you’re experiencing a panic attack.

This technique uses all 5 senses, and can be used any time.

🎗 Cervical Screening Awareness Week - June 2025 🎗

Cervical Screening Awareness Week is a vital health initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of cervical screening in preventing cervical cancer. This annual observance encourages women and people with a cervix to attend routine screening appointments, share information, and support efforts to save lives through early detection.

🩷 Cervical screening can prevent up to 75% of cervical cancers if attended regularly.
🩷 The test checks for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) which can cause cervical cell changes.
🩷 Cervical screening is offered to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 in the UK.
🩷 Thousands of lives are saved each year thanks to the cervical screening programme.
🩷 The week encourages open conversations to reduce stigma and empower more people to attend their appointments.

More information and support can be found on the Macmillan Cancer Support website: https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-awareness/cervical-screening-awareness-week

Our own PCN Cancer Care Nurse, Dawn Prigg, is also available to speak to for support and advice about cancer through your GP surgery.
