Healing the Feminine: Breaking Cycles, Reclaiming Power

Healing the Feminine: Breaking Cycles, Reclaiming Power Helping women + mothers slow down, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect to nature. Rewilding doesn’t mean going off-grid or banning screens.

I blend somatics, slow living, and soul-led practices to support real-life healing from burnout, overwhelm, and emotional exhaustion. I'm a mum, teacher, and nature guide at heart — with a Master’s in Conservation Management and Ecology, a degree in Health and Applied Sciences, and years of experience working in mental health. I've worked on nature reserves, supported ecological restoration projec

ts, and spent years exploring how nature supports both human and environmental wellbeing. Through Barefoot & Unplugged, I help modern families raise screen-smart, nature-connected children by gently rewilding childhood — one barefoot step at a time. My passion is helping kids fall in love with the natural world — while giving parents the tools and confidence to lead them there, even from a flat in the middle of the city. It means teaching our children to notice, to wander, to wonder — and to unplug with purpose. It’s not about removing tech. It’s about helping kids learn to put it down — and look up.

You’re not too sensitive.
You’re tuned in.
That softness you carry is survival, not fragility.
Let it guide you — not shame you.

When you walk through a forest, you're breathing in something called phytoncides — natural oils released by trees.

Research shows these oils reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, and increase immune cell activity.

This is why forest bathing works. It’s not a trend. It’s biology.

🌿 *Ritual & Regulation | Monday Reset*

Disconnection shows up quietly. You feel floaty. Numb. Like you’re not in your body.

When that happens, I do this:

🚪 Go outside.
👉 Touch something textured: bark, stone, soil.
👉 Press into it. Notice every bump, ridge, crack, grain.

This is sensory re-connection. It helps bring you *back in*.

You don’t need a ritual. You need to feel something real.

Some days are messy. Some days are loud. Some days are flat.
That doesn’t mean you’re broken.
You don’t have to feel zen to be okay.
You just have to be real with yourself.

Grounding connects your body to the natural electric charge of the earth.

Studies have shown it can reduce inflammation, improve mood, and help with sleep disorders.

But here’s the thing: grounding only works if your body feels safe.

Start with nervous system regulation. Then connect to the earth.

You’re not separate from the forest, the water, or the sky.
You are it.

That’s why you feel calmer after walking in the woods. Why your chest softens in the wind. Why barefoot in the grass feels like medicine.

It’s not a luxury. It’s a return.

🌿 *Ritual & Regulation | Monday Reset*

Struggling to switch off at night? Waking hot, restless, and wired?

This helps:

✉️ Step outside just before bed — even for 2 minutes.
👉 Barefoot if you can, or in socks. Stand on grass, stone, patio.
👉 Feel the cool of the ground. Breathe. Let the heat leave your body.

This helps regulate your body temperature and your nervous system.

I use this when I feel like I’m carrying the day in my chest. It gives my brain a signal: we can rest now.

Try it tonight.

You don’t need to force your healing.
You don’t need to earn your rest.
Returning to yourself — slowly, honestly — is more powerful than any plan.

Morning light is more than a nice moment — it’s medicine.

Sunlight in the morning helps reset your circadian rhythm, which tells your body when to release hormones like cortisol, melatonin, and estrogen.

Better rhythm = better regulation = less overwhelm.

This is especially helpful during perimenopause and hormone chaos.

Get outside within the first hour of waking, even for 5 minutes.

If nothing’s working… maybe you don’t need fixing.

Maybe you need a pause.

To sit in silence.
To move slowly.
To feel your body with the land — not against it.

This is what most of us never learned.
This is what Rewild Reset is here to teach.

🌿 *Ritual & Regulation | Monday Reset*

If you’re feeling overwhelmed — like everything is too loud, too fast, too much — you’re not alone.

Hormones, stress, parenting, overstimulation, brain fog, broken sleep... it builds up.

Here’s one thing that helps me regulate when I’m at capacity — and it only takes a minute:

Step outside.
👉 Let your eyes move *slowly* across what’s around you.
👉 Trees, sky, garden fence — whatever’s there.
👉 Left to right. Near to far.
👉 Breathe while you do it. That’s it.

This is a nervous system tool called *orienting* — it helps your brain register that you’re not in danger.

It doesn’t fix everything. But it helps calm the overwhelm enough to move through the next moment.

Try it. Tag someone who might need this today.

Sometimes rest isn’t just a need — it’s a boundary.
We’ve been told to keep going, keep pushing, stay strong.
But true power often shows up in the pause.
That breath between yes and no.
That space where you hear yourself again.
